Damn, this video was made in November 2011, that's only 2 months after the release of this game! I did not expect anyone to be as far into this game without any guides at the time of this video's creation.
You know what I like about Vamos? The guy's past the point of being considered hollow, yet his manliness expresses itself beyond the very scope of complete unlife itself. He even went & forged himself a blacksmith's beard, & went so far as to coat each of his bones in a metal, so they wouldn't rot away by air exposure. The next time you go down into the catacombs, take a second to look, REALLY LOOK, at this epitome of "Fuck you Undeath" manhood. Vamos, the best irate blacksmith in fiction.
I LOVE HOW I GET DOWN HERE I START TALKING TO HIM A SKELETON COMES OUT BEHIND ME SLICES HIM AND ME I CANT MOVE HE HAS ME CORNERED I TURN AROUND TO ENGAGE I HIT THE BLACKSMITH BY COMPLETE ACCIDENT HE FUCKING ATTACKS
The slimes in the Depths are my favourite farming spot, actually, for both Green Titanite Shards and Large Titanite Shards. Very easy, very quick, very safe. Run out of the bonfire room, cut down the torch hollow, run to the other end of the hall to make the slimes fall down and kill the other torch hollow in the passage, run back into the middle of the slimes, cast Chaos Storm, reap rewards, repeat. Plus if I want to farm Humanity as well, I can run downstairs and butcher the rats while I'm at it.
ArcaneAzmadi . YEESSSSS!!! This farming route is amazing!! Ido exactly what you do but after I kill the rats I go and farm the basilisk for their eyes of death. 4 different rare item fark run!! Many many times I'll get 4 of each on a run 4 green tite, 4 large tite, 4 to 6 humanity, and 4 eyes of death. I got my hard and soft humanity up to 99 very fast that way!!!
nope if your a beginner. like first tie playing then yea. if you started a new game and beated it atleast once but in a new profile then no. maybe an hour or more but less then 10. because one thing is for sure. you will for sure get good through sweat and tears
ArchAngel #11457 Depends... To get the chaos ember you have be in lost izalith which means you have to get the lord vessel. That can take quite awhile, especially for me because I spend time co-oping and farming for balder swag swords and shit on my new playthroughs. So I get to Anor Londo around 10 hours in. 15 to get the chaos ember and the two red slabs. And I've beaten the game about 4 or 5 times.
You don't need the lord vessel to get the chaos ember. When your done with quelagg you can go to demon ruins and a bunch of bull demons will be there. Just kill them and boom you got the ember. Only downside is you will need to die to get it :P
You dont need to be chaos servant 2+ to open the door, if you approach from the back you can open it as well. Also, personally i farm the red titanite chunks from the flower pot monsters
Wow they editing is really good and stylized on these videos, especially the info text. I already knew where the Chaos ember was but couldn't remember the Fire one. Thanks.
I did the same thing on my first playthrough. I didn't want to throw that out there, though, because some people on youtube get irate at video makers when things don't go their way.
Since this video seems particularly popular (probably because of the back and forth trolling lol!) does anybody need/want guides for the DLC content? I figure there's already lots of videos by now, though, so not sure if it will be worth doing.
You can get regular Titanite Slabs as a rare drop from the Darkwraiths in New Londo, I suggest equipping the Covetous Gold Serpent Ring before trying though.
It's pretty good for the price (15 bucks). It's more challenging, in my opinion. Also, the DLC has some advantages like easier access to certain materials like Blue Titanite Slabs. Besides that, there are some really good weapons, sorceries, and pyromancy spells that you can get from the DLC areas.
so idk if your answer has been answered yet kinda old comment but his build in this video is called a vitality dump you get the stats to use a certain elemental weapon usually a katana and dump every other spare point into vitality works insanely well
Your pretty good at doing guides, youlle be surprised how many guide videos there that just dont explain the HOW TO part which basically is the whole point of it, anyways great vid!!
+5 fire and +0 chaos have just about the same amount of fire dmg, chaos just hast a little bit (usually not more then 5%) less physical dmg so even with just 2 humanity you'll allready do more dmg
as for farming shards and chunks: the easiest way to require shards and chunks is by farming the black knights at the kiln of the first flame (before the end boss) the knight with the greatsword will drop red chunks and the knight with the axe will drop blue chunks if you haven't joined the darkwraiths you can talk to kingseeker framt at the firelink shrine and make him chew the blue and red (?) chunks into green titanite shards this method is fairly easy and cheap in the end game
one is from laurentius, the other is from the egg guy near quelaags sister. You have to have the egg on your head and he will give you a cure and if you talk to him again the pyro glove.
For the 4 worms there is actually a spot smackdown in the middle between the two farthest in which you can shoot them all from and don't have to run by at all.
after you help Siegmeyer in Lost Izalith she will be back in firelink again and says she found her dad and he has gone again. then you have to go to Ash lake and she gives you a titanite slab! but a bit of a sad ending I wont spoil.
You need to have saved dusk, killed the blue respawning golem near the first bonfire in the dukes archives and killed the hydra in the lower lvls of the forest area. Head to the place where the golden golem was in the forest cave and you should be able to get to the location
At +5 you can make a divine weapon. You need a divine ember for that, It's at the top of the stairs at the end of the bridge where you killed the moonlight butterfly. For lighting you make it +10 and go to the giant blacksmith in Anor londo. You need I Think green titanite for it, You can buy it from him aswell for quite a low price. For fire (Not reccomended if you don't have no divine weapon) Head into the Catacombs down from where the graveyard is near Firelink. Light the bonfire. And
Hey what bow/arrows are you using? and i love you're videos they are helping me so much/ going to help me :D. I just got into dark souls and im kinda struggling on my first playthrough but i feel that these will help, so keep it up :).
@BlackHolyday24 The Darmoon bow, after killing Gwyndolin you have to ascend a random +10 bow with the soul of Gwyndolin and it will make this bow (strongest bow in the game)
Concerning which upgrade path is the best... it really depends on the enemy you're fighting and your own play-style. For example, fire is almost useless in blighttown and against any enemy that is fire-based, but does INSANE amounts of damage in the darkroot garden/oolicile areas. And divine weapons destroy the enemies in the tomb of the giants, but doesn't do as much against the enemies in anor londo (still does a good bit). It really just depends on the build you're going for and the weapon you're upgrading.
Yeah, good luck maxing out a fire/chaos weapon before you get to there, seeing as you can't max out any weapon paths other then the normal +15 until you beat O&S. Better just to use a + 10 regular or magic +5 for blighttown. Or a holy weapon, or hell, just use a black knight weapon or the dragon weapons. there are plenty of options for you. Also, ever tried using magic weapons in the dukes archives? A lot less effective than chaos or holy.
How do you use a "magic slot"? Do you mean that you attune spells such as pyromancy and cast them at you're enemies, because I was talking about WEAPONS upgraded to the magic path, not casting spells at your foes. Casting spells is quite effective indeed.
Hello iam New to dark souls the skeletons always kill me quickly and easily iam a beginner so please don't laugh at my question how do you get the skeletons to stay down dead like the rest of the zombie like caricatures I have racing the 2 bells and have the lighting spear but they are still difficult to kill is there a better way it.looks like you have a good handle on this game so I feel confident in getting the right answer thank you
+Merlyn Potter There are necromancers in the area that revive the skeletons. Once you kill those guys the skeletons can be killed. The necromancers are the guys that shoot fireballs and are wielding that skull lantern thingy.
Use a divine weapon like Astora's Straight Sword. You can get that along with Dragon Crest Shield near the sleeping dragon in the Valley of Drakes. Or you can find and kill off the Mages that are controlling them. The skeletons won't come back life if you kill them after that.
You dont need the ring to get the chaos amber, it's in the lava but you can quickly roll in, loot it and roll out of the lava, i know i did it before killing the centipede boss.

after you kill the silver knights for him he goes back to firelink shrine and will give you a miracle (emit force) then he goes to blightown near the entrance to great hollow, and will ask for some mosses. give them to him and he gives you his shield. then he goes to lost izalith.

@ilvsas From the second black knight you face at the kiln of the first flame. make sure you have the covetous gold serpent ring equipped, it's a guaranteed drop every time.
if u have Dex build then Uchi Normal +15 and Crystal +5 are good as they scale vs Dex. Chaos weapon dont scale and has base damage of 195 phys +225 magic (chaos +5) but it doesnt scale. Chaos blade however does scale vs Dex (B scale, not as good as Uchi A Scale)
@thomfuzzy The black nights only drop the normal titanite slabs as a rare drop not any of the other slabs and it is a 1 in 1000 chance of finding it if you have your item discovery rate maxed out by using the ring and 10 humanity. Itt is not worth farming for them
@js100serch but you should make the chaos blade instead of the fury sword if you have a good dex, the chaos blade is one of the strongest weapons in the game
@lendial the black knights drop slabs of blue, red, white, and normal but it's a really rare drop. Idk if you can get the normal slabs from them so idk
@TheSambion then it is probably thhe Dragonslayer Greatbow, terrifying power, but if your against those slow shootings then I would recommend the Darkmoon bow
Gwyndolins Moonlight Bow with Moonlight Arrows. Any +10 bow with Gwyndolins Soul. You'll lose the ability to join the Blades of the Darkmoon covenant and the Firekeeper at the beginning of Anor Londo

does a weapon have to be +5 or +10 to make it a fire weapon?

If you are going after the lg. fire ember, you can easily run past those enemies and use a homeward bone.
At 2:14, I usually just make a mad dash past the two worms infront of me to the chest, get the ember, then homeward bone out.
@BlackHolyday24 The Darmoon bow, after killing Gwyndolin you have to ascend a random +10 bow with the soul of Gwyndolin and it will make this bow (strongest bow in the game)

Hello iam New to dark souls the skeletons always kill me quickly and easily iam a beginner so please don't laugh at my question how do you get the skeletons to stay down dead like the rest of the zombie like caricatures I have racing the 2 bells and have the lighting spear but they are still difficult to kill is there a better way it.looks like you have a good handle on this game so I feel confident in getting the right answer thank you
you'll need to find the divine ember and make a divine weapon is the easiest way, there's a dark souls wiki to help more
+Merlyn Potter There are necromancers in the area that revive the skeletons. Once you kill those guys the skeletons can be killed. The necromancers are the guys that shoot fireballs and are wielding that skull lantern thingy.
kill the necromancers or use a Divine weapon
The divine ember is kind of late in the game.
