- Spirits In The Material World - Police Drum Cover by Erick Cohn
from the album Ghost In The Machine on A&M records 1981. The drummer on the track is Stewart Copeland.
Difficult to play, timing, beats all difficult.
Yes, this song is difficult to play, but so much is about the feel of the song. So much is on the up beats.
Stewart Copeland even said this was his most difficult song to drum.
As a life-long Police fan, this song being my second favorite off my number 1 dessert island record, I need to say : You play this Excellent !!
..and have my Well earned sub. Thank you for sharing.
Well, thank you for your comments and the sub!
That was damned impressive. A difficult song to cover and you nailed it, well done.
Thanks!
Impressive. Stewart Copeland said that was his hardest drum part. You seemed to get all the subtleties in there too.
Thanks. Yes, it was challenging and I tried hard to get a lot of it right while still providing a groove.
I don’t know a lot about drums but I am damn sure about one thing. The way you play is solid
Thanks so much! I really appreciate your comments. 🎼
Crotale!
Great Playing!
Thanks!
Great job on this one Erck, I love how you carefully picked up that little bell for the 'ting!" sound and then carefully put it bck down without missing a beat :) made me laugh.... awesome stuff!
Thanks Jason! That tuned disc seemed perfect to use for that sound since it is similar enough.
Well done
Thanks a lot!
