I was exhausted just from cheering you & Peter man handling that bird ....so glad he was in the house to help ! I felt like I was watching a surgery of sorts !!! GREAT VIDEO ...Thanks!!
I have to say that I enjoyed watching you and Peter tackle that turkey and showing him who is boss!!!!! I would recommend spatchcocking a few chickens this year so that you get more familiar with it. I love spatchcocking my chickens, they are more tender and cook quicker in the oven, but it is a chore, and I have never done a 24 lb bird, so kudos to you and Peter.
Thank you for being so honest and sharing the times in your life when “ i just didn’t do it”, happens. That’s real life. We accomplish a lot but we also have things that go wrong. It’s refreshing to hear real life vlogs too.
First off, I was so invested in the turkey!😅 How was it? Will you do it again? It sure looks beautiful. Jennifer, you sure do get a lot done! What a wonderful family and friends gathering! Go Grandma!❤
You sound like me!! I was supposed to do a lot of Christmas decorating and petered out after a couple of hours. Oh well. It's good enough since it's only my husband and me. Jennifer, you are really in a funk!!! hahahaha BTW--I used to have fear of crust but now I think pies are really easy to make. My challenge now is baking bread. I adored your lesson on shaping pie crust. I never knew anyone who did that. Thank you so much.
I literally was laughing out loud at the part where Peter said I walk in to mom stabbing the turkey. I’m still laughing as I’m typing this comment. So hilarious. 😂 This made my morning! Thanks
I was so happy to see your video was over an hour and 27 minutes. What a fun video and thanks for keeping the hacking of the poor turkey in the video. I could not stop laughing and my daughter heard something about a turkey and a hammer and was like mommy thats so wrong but so funny. She was on the floor laughing. Thanks for sharing
What an absolutely beautiful Thanksgiving dinner, Jennifer. That spatchcock turkey looked so delicious, everything did! I have to tell you I almost jumped when the flour came flying out of the mixer. Haha! You sure handled it like a pro though and didn’t miss a beat. Thank you for sharing all of the preparations and your meal with us. I enjoyed every minute.❤
I was never good at pie crust(70 yrs young) when I started making your crust. I didn’t have any lard at the time; so subbed butter and crisco with good results. I now use lard. I’ll never try another crust recipe. I’m teaching my granddaughter to make your chicken pot pie from your cookbook. Blessings and Merry Christmas to you and your family.
lol that floor went everywhere!! But it happens, especially when you need another cleaning job to do lol. I truly enjoyed your video today as I do every time you post a new video. I enjoyed the extra long video today. You are probably one of the best UA-camrs out there. Your videos are always great, and you let us not just see all the good things but also all the mistakes or slip ups. I enjoy seeing Joe on your videos he is always so happy.
🥧 I’m not great at homemade pie crust yet but your recipe is the only I use now. Very tasty and turns out the best for me. I am so glad to have your cookbooks! ❤
Our oven decided it did not want to cook a turkey this year so we had to scramble to find one. Got it set up the day before hosting 8 people! I haven’t done the sleeve thing with the mixer yet but made a mess earlier mixing dough for pizza when I dropped the measuring cup in the mixer while it was going. Thank you for not hiding the struggles! I think that’s what makes people love watching you because we struggle too!
With the X3 there isn’t any to bake without crust for the kids to fight over who gets it this year lol. THANK YOU for sharing your beautiful REAL life with us! 💜
Love your real life adventure, deer hunting, turkey splitting, ha, baking, soup making, etc. so interesting to see the non typical deer. Love to see those here in Mississippi too!
Oh my that poor turkey! 😂 I had to look away! The pies are beautiful! I will be trying the pie crust recipe for sure. Your entire dinner was beautiful! ❤️
🦃❤️🥧 love you video Jennifer. What fun this was to watch, from deer stands, flour spins, to tackling a turkey. Next is the Christmas Special. Can't wait to see what goes on. Be well, Be safe, and have fun!
I love your pie crust recipe! 🥧 It's the one I use anytime I want to make a pie. WOW, you and Peter really got a workout from messing around with that turkey! I knew when I heard you say you were going to spatchcock it that it would be a chore for sure! It looked so delicious! I hope you all had a Happy Thanksgiving!
Oh my goodness I’m home alone watching the Turkey process laughing out loud. . Peter did you break the breast bone? No it was just the celery 😂. On another note I think Peter will be a chef and a wonderful husband to a lucky young lady some day
You and Peter spatchcocking was like an "I Love Lucy" episode! Maybe if you want to try this again (fat chance, huh?) get a fresh turkey at the store and have the butcher do the deed. Bless you for trying, though. Everything looks easier on videos. When our kids were babies (40+ years ago) I used to watch PBS shows while they were nursing, and I honestly thought I could make a stained glass window in thirty minutes. Editing is a wonderful thing for anyone making videos; but you know that!
Smart Move, Jen! We 'dial down' the sugar in that same swt potato casserole recipe. I say 'we' but I really mean Rachel lol. We each make our specialities. You know what they say, many hands make for a big mess 😂jk. Your pie crust is the one I want to try ❤ Loved the Hunting Date and according to my sourçes, yes deer are attracted to the sent of grilled cheese... well the dear Gordon Girls are anyway lol. Such an awesome Parade & Thanksgiving Day. We are thankful for you, your family and your channel ❤ btw we both said scalloped edge at the same time😊 I can't imagine 10° brr. Stay warm, my friends 💕
That turkey made me a nervous wreck. I could never do that. Lol. One year our stove stopped working on Thanksgiving day. Fortunately I was able to do all my baking at our church fellowship bldg. 😅
Jennifer, you and Peter spatchcocking the turkey was too funny. I'm sure they had small turkeys in the videos you watched. My family loves the sweet potato casserole. I triple the recipe and also the topping. It's more of a dessert than a vegetable. I love how real you keep everything. We all have challenges and mishaps when cooking for holidays. But it all turns out fine celebrating with loved ones.
These are the times I miss the most. Your Thanksgiving looked perfect, family, friends and laughter….and of course-GREAT FOOD. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family Jennifer. ♥️
🥧 truly the best person pie crust recipe! Pie crust used to always make me swear, but this recipe is so easy to work with and delicious and flakey. I use lard from our homegrown pigs. I figured the weight of lard needed, and it is so much easier to weigh it out than scoop and measure.
Love your videos! Those flour messes happen…..one time my grandson and I were making banana bread….he turned the mixer on high…flour everywhere! We still laugh about it and remember it as a “flour shower”
Jennifer really loved this video. You covered every minute up to Thanksgiving. Good to see you and Warren share a grilled cheese sandwich. But I laughed out loud with you and Peter . It looked delicious 😋/ Family and Friends sharing Thanksgiving is priceless. God bless you all. ♥🦃❄🙏
Hi, your a hard worker in the kitchen you had me laughing at your comments struggling with the turkey lol..quite enjoyable video. Work safe and polysporin works good on the sore hands. Happy Thanksgiving beautiful family.
Hi Jennifer and sweet family! So many wonderful memories and even with the hiccups it is still good memories. Merry Christmas sweet Joe and family. I really enjoyed the grilled cheese sharing with Warren. My double oven is 24 years old and I probably need another oven. I’m just using it till it quits. I have spatchcocked a chicken, but never a turkey. That was exasperating and with it being such a big bird made it harder. Maybe do two smaller turkeys next time. Congratulations Warren and Sparky on your deers! Your turkey looked delicious, the whole meal I’m sure was amazing. Twenty six people is a lot of people to feed. I’m glad everyone had a very blessed Thanksgiving. Your granddaughter was adorable rooting you on. She is so precious. Have a very blessed week everyone!
Beautiful family 💖, awesome video 😍, thank you for sharing your Thanksgiving with us. Trial and error on the turkey 🦃, but how delicious and yummy at the end. I want to try making one like that now 😀. Glad you all got some venison. Appreciate your honesty on everything. You are the best in everything you do, 😘 you and your family. 👍😘😍
My husband took up pie making several years ago and he could do a pie edge that looked like it should be in a contest. My favorite pie he made was a blueberry nectarine. It was so much more delicious than it sounds.
Hi Jennifer. You amaze me. I have a hard time keeping it all together when I have 9 people to accommodate-cannot imagine having 23!! You done good--well done. Happy Thanksgiving to the Brockman family. Hugs.
Hi Jennifer, cant wait to see your new stove 😮 What a lovely Thanksgiving supper with friends, and family. Scrumptious food, and great company. Blessings 🙌 to the Brockmans. ✨️✨️✨️🎅🎄🎄🎅✨️✨️🎅🎄🎅✨️✨️✨️🎅🎄✨️✨️🎅🎄🎅✨️✨️✨️🎅🎄🎄 See you soon 😊
Hubby and I went to see The Best Christmas Pageant Ever after your video comment. We really enjoyed it. I don't have a kitchen aid. Wonder if your pie crust recipe would still work?
Great video....Avery good day Deer hunting...congrats to Warren...I always spatchcock all my turkeys and chickens and I don't remove anything...I just cut down the side of the backbone all the way down, then turn it over and press it down hard...I did a 27 lb turkey for Thanksgiving...plus 2 chickens ..some people won't eat turkey...I can't believe your family not eating sweet potatoes but maybe it's because I live in state where they are grown commercially, like you are famous for cranberries which I stocked up on from the grocers..I always buy enough for a year..keep in the freezer except for what I use to make cranberry juice...you had a lovely Thanksgiving...
Hi Jennifer I love your pie 🥧 crust recipe and filling It looks amazing I always make my own pie crust Love You all Joe is so funny love Him Your Family is all beautiful God bless you all Cathy 🙏🏻✝️☮️📿🙏🏻✝️☮️💐🌹🍀💙♥️
❤❤❤ As a young bride, I talked my mom in law into cooking Christmas dinner at home, and that I'd help. We got the ham ready and put in oven. About an hour later we heard a big bang. After investigating everything seemed ok... but an hour later, we couldn't smell the ham. The noise had been the oven dying and I ended up cutting it into smaller chunks and cooking it on my in-law's charcoal grill in norther Wisconsin. Luckily everything else was already made or in crock pots. 😊
Next time put nutmeg and cinnamon in your sweet potatoes 🍠 then put on the topping, delicious. That’s how I make my sweet potato casserole. I didn’t have any leftover. Your turkey looks amazing, I would try that way of cooking my turkey but I don’t have the strength to cut a turkey 🦃. Pies look great. Thank you for sharing.
Loved this video. Thanks for sharing. Joe, Merry Christmas to you too. You looked very handsome in your vest and tie on Thanksgiving. Jennifer, Your children are maturing so quickly and your grandchildren are so precious. Warren, still trying to decide with beard or without beard. It is kind of growing on me. Merry Christmas to you all.
Hi Jennifer! I felt so bad for you at the beginning of your video- when everything just seemed to go wrong. Boy, do I know all too well how those days feel! But unlike me, you’re such a trooper. I would have had to stop my filming, say a bunch of choice hmm; hmm; curse words, then resume as if I were fine. I also notice that you sound a little nasal - perhaps from sitting out on Warren’s “lady” potty - but that’s just the mom in me being worried about you. I hope you had a wonderful holiday with the family. I wish I had one of those pies❤ sooo good!
Sorry, but I had to chuckle at you and Peter struggling with the turkey. I had visions of it hitting the floor but thankfully it didn't! Teamwork at it's finest. Looking forward to getting my cookbooks soon.
Happy belated thanksgiving to you and your family. Indeed yo know what kind of oven you ended up getting.. we are going to get a new oven ours is 11 years old having two mother boards replaced by sears and it being fixed once it’s an awesome stove but sears don’t make them anymore . So only 5 that’s not much ? Better than none . I’m learning how to shoot next week. Joe just warms my heart such a loving and caring child well all your kids are that way though .. will have to try your pie crust m not good at making pie crusts at all ..
One Sunday I had 12 people coming to dinner, big expensive roast, turned the oven on, click, click, wouldn’t heat. So I fired up the grill, one of the best roasts I ever cooked, cooked all the oven foods on the grill that day. I wasn’t going to disappoint all those people. The stove guy told me I know you can but one of the worst things is the cleaning cycle, if you have to use it just run it for an hour more frequently. I use my garden nippers to spatchcock chickens and turkeys, been doing it for years. I’ve done them on the grill a lot. Always dry brine in fridge turkeys, chicken and beef roasts, it makes a big difference.
Growing up with a huntet dad we loved grouse and pheasants. Loved the deer stand vudeos. I am definitely trying your pie dough sometime. I have to get the lard. God bless everyone. I think next year i will do that spatchcock, ❤❤
Spatchcocking a turkey is not as easy as some videos look. Last thanksgiving my poor turkey looked all hacked up. One of my issues was that my kitchen shears were about 20 years old and I just didn’t have the strength that those guys did in the videos. This year I went through dozens of Walmart reviews on kitchen shears specifically for cutting bones on a turkey. I found some for a great price and they worked so much better and I did see one person who snipped just the middle of the wishbone in the middle. I turned jt around and broke it down further. 2 cracks before it sat flat and I struggled with one wing tip going behind the breast. It was hard but easier than last year. Keep going!
Yes Jennifer I am same as you!! U have a libbys label with the pumpkin pie recipe that I follow also! Have tried others and they aren't the same or near as good!! If it ain't broke don't fix it!! ❤😊
cith was amazingI just bought a new stove yesterday from Home Depot! my former stove was seriously old and one day the oven wouldn't turn off (broiler turned itself on, which I didn't turn on). Let's just say that the fire dept in my city was amazing. In any case - i hope you like your new stove!!
OMGosh the same thing happened to mine! So scary. Temp rose to 500° as it started to smoke. Thankfully the oven fuses are separate & I thot to turn them off.
Jennifer are you feeling okay sweet Friend I know it’s very cold outside ?All the food looks so delicious God bless You Cathy🙏🏻✝️☮️📿💐🍀♥️🌹💙🥧💙♥️💐🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🫂🫂🫂🫂🫂🫂🫂🫂🫂🫂🙏🏻✝️☮️📿
Have you ever thought of doing a freezer clean-out and organizing video? ("And also use the thing i find in the freezer meals") I know you talked about things falling to the bottom and also having a hard time finding things. I personally love that kind of video.
Thank you for not editing out the turkey spatchcocking. It was hilarious!
I’m glad you got a kick out of it!
I was exhausted just from cheering you & Peter man handling that bird ....so glad he was in the house to help ! I felt like I was watching a surgery of sorts !!! GREAT VIDEO ...Thanks!!
You are the most patient woman I have ever seen!!! You’re amazing!!’
You and Peter man handling that turkey was hilarious . Haha
It would be nice to do a chicken…a very small chicken.
Yes we love your PIE crust recipe!!!

We had fun; don't think the turkey did!!

I am literally LOL watching y’all with that bird! Thanks for ensuring that I will Never try that!
I love a very long video❤❤❤❤❤
Jennifer (and Brockman family) - very much enjoyed spending this time with you! Thank you for taking us along! ❤ xo
Why did I smile back at you and Warren when you leaned in and smiled in the deer stand? 😂🤦🏼♀️
I was never good at pie crust(70 yrs young) when I started making your crust. I didn’t have any lard at the time; so subbed butter and crisco with good results. I now use lard. Oh my that poor turkey! 😂 I had to look away!
The pies are beautiful! I will be trying the pie crust recipe for sure. Your entire dinner was beautiful! ❤️
Good morning all happy Monday morning to all of you guys and I hope you having amazing day and you are amazing supporter Jennifer
After all the problems with the turkey, the pan looks to be a perfect size! Joe looks so handsome!
Couples hunting together...so cute...I do know that Amy would never join me in the hunting hut...LOL
Oh my...the turkey fiasco. Great help Peter! Thanks for the laughs.
Peter saying, "we can edit this part out" lol😂
🦃❤️🥧 love you video Jennifer. What fun this was to watch, from deer stands, flour spins, to tackling a turkey. Next is the Christmas Special. Can't wait to see what goes on.
Be well, Be safe, and have fun!
Hi Jennifer. Your hair looked so beautiful. Congratulations to all the hunters who got deer. Your Thanksgiving spread looked amazing.
We were glad it was tasty for all the work.
Oh my goodness I’m home alone watching the Turkey process laughing out loud. .
Peter did you break the breast bone? No it was just the celery 😂. On another note I think Peter will be a chef and a wonderful husband to a lucky young lady some day
I guess I'm extremely lucky I've been using my electric Fridgadair stove for over 30 years. My in-laws had theirs for over 50 years. Great brand
You and Peter preparing that turkey is a core memory in the making!!!!❤️❤️
Jennifer vs The Turkey
Results: Turkey tenderized & cooked to perfection.
Jen for the Win 😂❤
That turkey made me a nervous wreck. I could never do that. Lol. One year our stove stopped working on Thanksgiving day. Fortunately I was able to do all my baking at our church fellowship bldg. 😅
That’s how my son in law did our turkey this year, he did a dry brining then he spatchcocked it then he smoked it it was amazing.
Jennifer, you and Peter spatchcocking the turkey was too funny. I'm sure they had small turkeys in the videos you watched. My family loves the sweet potato casserole. before I forget, hoping you both had a beautiful day yesterday and always 😊❤
Thanks 😊 we had a nice anniversary. Have a great week!
Lol...i did the " hook the on switch" with my shirt and created a nice little flour blizzard in the kitchen. Laughing with you. I enjoy your channel.
🥧 truly the best person pie crust recipe! Pie crust used to always make me swear, but this recipe is so easy to work with and delicious and flakey. I use lard from our homegrown pigs. I figured the weight of lard needed, and it is so much easier to weigh it out than scoop and measure.

Hubby and I went to see The Best Christmas Pageant Ever after your video comment. We really enjoyed it.
I don't have a kitchen aid. Wonder if your pie crust recipe would still work?
I think she has done it by hand in other videos.
My family makes grilled cheese breakfast sandwiches with egg and ham. You should try them 😋 Great video!
That sounds like a great way to start the day!
What did you do with the scraps of dough? I always lay them flat and sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar and bake them . Yummy
Everything looked delicious and so glad deer were getting caught! Hope you show your new kitchen stove in a video soon!
This is what I miss about WI. Holidays where everyone brings a dish to pass...love it

Oh my goodness. I can’t believe the spatchcocking of the turkey. I think they are usually smaller. Looks like y’all had a fun day.
It was a little bigger than the ones I’d seen done.
So happy u and Warren got to hunt together!❤❤

Omg - Jen and the turkey serial killer vibes 😂😂😂😂
That’s what I was thinking too.
Merry Christmas Joe😊 and family 🎅🤶👼🎄🎄☃️⛄️🐮🧸🦌🧑🎄🎁
The Libby pumpkin pie recipe is the best. Tried and true for years.
Who else is waiting to see what Joe does to the pies this year 😂😂❤❤
Next time put nutmeg and cinnamon in your sweet potatoes 🍠 then put on the topping, delicious. That’s how I make my sweet potato casserole. I didn’t have any leftover.
Thank you Kristin. Warren, Emily, Jaime and Brittany all got deer.
You really man handled that bird! lol😂
Loved this video!
Thank you so much!
Growing up with a huntet dad we loved grouse and pheasants. Loved the deer stand vudeos. I am definitely trying your pie dough sometime. I have to get the lard. God bless everyone. I think next year i will do that spatchcock, ❤❤
🥧 crust recipe works great
I'm glad you liked it.
Keep going!
Merry Christmas Joe & the family
Thank you, Merry Christmas to you too!
They alweys make it look so easy on Pinteredt.
Merry Christmas Joe!
I just always want to make sure there is safty in our home, especially with others using the appliances. Be safe.
Yep, that’s why we got a new one.
Yes Jennifer I am same as you!! U have a libbys label with the pumpkin pie recipe that I follow also! Have tried others and they aren't the same or near as good!! If it ain't broke don't fix it!! ❤😊
How was the turkey with the oil and seasonings brushed on the turkey? Would you recommend it for us to do it or not? Thx Everything looked delicious!!
Very good 👍 I’d highly recommend turkey prepared this way.
🥧🥧🥧🥧 love your pie crust❤❤
Appliances are way too expensive and don’t last as long as they used too- I miss the old days lol
cith was amazingI just bought a new stove yesterday from Home Depot! my former stove was seriously old and one day the oven wouldn't turn off (broiler turned itself on, which I didn't turn on). Let's just say that the fire dept in my city was amazing. In any case - i hope you like your new stove!!
Wow, that’s scary. I hope your new stove serves you well.
OMGosh the same thing happened to mine! So scary. Temp rose to 500° as it started to smoke. Thankfully the oven fuses are separate & I thot to turn them off.
Oh no!!
Soooo.....how did the wild turkey turn out??? And how about that spatchcocked turkey??? Curious George here!! ❤😊
My oven has lasted 37 years now with no repairs.😊
Ours too, over 25 years, Kenmore product, the best. I just replaced our Kenmore dryer that was older than the oven.
That looked stressful! Aww, Warren lacks patience with Joe.
