  • Fennel is a herbaceous plant in the family Umbrellas. Rich in vitamins and mineral salts when regularly inserted into the diet it also performs an important antioxidant and anti-inflammatory function.
    The fennel plant forms a white lump at the base, which is what we eat.
    To grow well it is necessary that the cultivation of fennel should be done at a time when temperatures do not drop below 8 degrees and do not rise beyond 24 degrees.
    This year we decided to start from our seeds. We sowed in a handcrafted seedbed the seeds harvested from a plant in early August. We protected the seedbed well and at the beginning of October we got several seedlings. Among these we chose the best ones and transplanted them on the pitch, in a place well exposed to sunlight.
    In this video the whole process is shown: from the sowing of seeds in the seedbed to the field transplant that took place precisely in early October.
