    Wow! This is so helpful!! I had Vestibular Neuritis and had PT. This enhances some of the exercises prescribed, but so much more! This will be well worth the time and effort. Thank you so much! You explain so very well, Dr Justin!

    Since you mentioned using your hands in your first comments, I was expecting (and hoping) for suggestions in how to use hands effectively in conjunction with feet /whole body balance.

    Awesome. So if coming out of long stay hospital bed will overall core , hips knees ankle play a role? What order should one test for stability ?

      Balance is a big part of overcoming the deconditioning resulted from being bed ridden for a longer period of time. Also, starting to gradually increase your strength by some techniques you can find on some of our other videos would be helpful.

      We are located in SWFL, our furthest north clinic is Lakewood Ranch, FL. Maybe one day we will branch up your way!

    my mother failed at 2nd step , what that mean ? she is 77 years old , recently she fell lot and i don't know what to do ?

    • @theactiveadult
      @theactiveadult  3 дні тому

      Failing she failed at the second step then just start off with step 1, and incorporate some head turns, possibly even trying with her eyes closed. After doing this for 5 minutes or so every day, she should keep trying step 2, and eventually she will be able to do that. Repeat for step 3, etc.

      @theactiveadult  Місяць тому +1

      Yes, absolutely these exercises could help you. What if any assistive devices are you currently using to walk?

    Thank you. I notice that you have shoes on during those exercises. I only tried barefoot and feel very wobbly.

    • @theactiveadult
      @theactiveadult  Місяць тому +2

      It is OK to practice either way. I agree, when I don't wear shoes the exercise is a little more difficult. This can be good but if you struggle too much (remember to try and be right on the edge between keeping and losing your balance) then try wearing shoes for now.
