    wow thats so great. After the retopo the mesh was even more satisfying. The only thing, when u are making scales or folds in the skin u should turn of the mirror option for the scales or folds on the mirror line it looks more natural if it is not perfect but the model is good anyways. Great Job

    Looks sick! been trying to make game ready dragons for a while now to sell on turbosquid, and took a lot of inspiration from your texturing workflow, and the way you med the rudders on the neck and tail was genius.btw that GOT dragon breed (drogon seasmoke etc actually has 4 toes though, just to letting you know)

    • @Caesars3DWorld
      @Caesars3DWorld  Рік тому +1

      Hey thanks. Yep that's right. I went for three toes for a bit of less work😅. It is extremely hard to complete all these so cutting some extra works sometimes helps if it doesn't actually effect the end result🤭.

      @@Caesars3DWorld If you do a lot of creature work, you should definatley check out this workflow if you haven't already. You can skip retopology entirely, save tons of time and get more control over your base mesh and uvs.

      @@seanstephenson7194 yeah I know this was the obdest way to model organic things before sculpting was even a thing. But it comes with its own downsides. You can not get extreme organic details with simple polymodeling. Plus it is very hard to reshape any model if you want quickly. Where sculpting gives you all the flexibility you want. Yes retopology part is time-consuming but both workflow comes with their pros and cons.

    Beautifully done! I'm new to retopology and have a question - why are the teeth/claws/horns/top ridges etc. not included in your retopology? Is there an advantage for leaving them separated as not part of the same sculpt and mesh? How would they then be connected to the body when animating? I understand why the eyes are left out, for rigging separately for movement, but haven't found an answer yet for things like claws and teeth. I'd love if you or someone here in the comments could explain this, or point me in the direction of a good resource talking about this, as I'm working on animating my own creature. Thank you!

    • @Caesars3DWorld
      @Caesars3DWorld  Рік тому

      Yes. You can create all of those inside retopo. But sometimes it is better to make specifically hard objects seperate and organic things as included in retopo. Because when things bend in animation it is easy to control those hard things in proper way, avoiding them fron bend weirdly. It is a difficult topic to explain but I guess you get an idea. you can try both, you will see how both workflow work differently.

    • @Caesars3DWorld

    • @Caesars3DWorld
      @Caesars3DWorld  Рік тому +2

      hey hi. No sculpted models are often not optimized for animation. It has millions of polygons that are mostly triangulated (tri polygons) and for good animations (and therefore good deformation) you need a good quad-based model which you get when you retopo the model.

      There are a few differences. For instance, you can go up to billions of polygons in Zbrush but you can't do that in Blender (not yet). Keep in mind that mostly you are never going to use that much polygon if you are not working professionally for some company like Weta. Otherwise as a tool both Blender and Zbrush can be used to do any sculpting work imaginable.
