Girl you are my God, I needed this do much
ah thank you I’m so glad to hear it! ❤️
I've never seen anyone crochet like that! I'm ambidextrous but dominantly right handed. I've been wanting to try to use my left hand sometimes and you gave me a whole new way of looking at how to do that. I love watching you and this is only the first video I've watched. I'm only five minutes in and I'm in awe. I also can't wait to try and make myself this dress.
Oh wow that’s so awesome to hear, definitely give it a try and let me know what you think!! And thank you so much!! ❤️
this is awesome, thank you. i have already started and about half way there i am doing extra small but i keep finding myself ending with way more stiches than you and I am worried my dress is going to be way to big. unsure if I should restart or try decreasing by large amounts :)
I just realized you are lefts handed that’s why I was confused on your crocheting good thing I made it with my right hand
it took me this comment to realized lol i was so confused😭
thank you so much for this video!! i had purchased the pattern on etsy and as a new crocheter this really helped me learn how to read the pattern!

The dress I need to find a tutorial for is one similar to the one in Zara rn, seen it all over Pinterest for months in similar designs
Hey mangopinkdragon on tik tok has a tutorial for Zara dress!
@@lailahtoussaint6592 she also has a tutorial for it on UA-cam! :)
Thank you for your Wonderful Patterns. I'm trying to get my business going, but I'm still researching some things. I'm not a fan of mathematics peruodt. Lol. But I know Crocheting does require Guage swatch. I wish it was easy. I wish. But I will say my measuring tape does help still in a way.
Yes measuring tape is sooo helpful!! Good luck with your business! ❤️
if you want more recommendations for patterns, maybe the granny square one from zara? with the asymmetrical attachments between rows. and thank you for posting this pattern! cant wait to get started
Ahh yes that’s a great idea thanks!! And you’re welcome I’m so glad you like it!🙃
So beautiful and awesome
Thank you so much for this tutorial😻😻
how much time do you usually take to make this type of dress?
Thank you for this! I was wondering what to do to make the bralette part ‘thinner’ on top? I find them very broad on top of my chest and at the shoulders. How do I make them more narrow? Thank you!❤
THANK YOUUUUUU!❤️❤️❤️
You’re welcome!! So glad you like the tutorial ❤️
What drew me to wanting to make this dress is because I've seen one like it made with rainbow colors in total hippie fashion. People are making it with pink/purple/orange/red/yellow/green all in one dress. Others are doing Rasta colors, or whatever colors they want.
Their patterns are different but the color shift and banding is the same.
Hey! Thanks for the tutorial they’re absolutely amazing! While I was stitching I noticed that my double crochets are twisting (like a DNA) is there any way I can prevent this?
game changer, this helped a lot thank you so much i can’t wait to do this
You’re welcome I’m so glad to hear it!! 💕
Great tutorial....thank you for sharing.
***For those of you who are Rt handed...find Bagoday, hooked by Robin, or creative grandma on UA-cam -- all 3 channels have great beginner instructions as well as patterns to learn how to crochet. Bagoday and hooked by Robin use the 'knife' hold; creative grandma uses the 'pencil' hold. These are the correct ways to hold your hook, and they also show the correct way to hold your yarn. Tamara Kelly from Moogly does. Rt and Lt. handed tutorials. All of these ladies have a blog, though I'm unsure if Bagoday has a blog. If you're new to crochet it might be a little difficult to follow this lovely young lady...she does beautiful work but how she holds her hook and yarn is a bit unconventional. She's using one hand to work her hook and yarn, which I'm sure she most likely taught herself to crochet. The conventional way is to hold your hook in one hand and yarn in the other. Though I'm amazed at how fast she can move with having to do an extra step of putting the yarn over her hook as opposed to grabbing the yarn w the hook. (I'm not criticizing this lovely young lady. Plz don't take it that way. I just remember starting out, trying to teach myself how to crochet. When I found the women I listed above on YT it was a game changer. Things I didn't understand trying to read finally made more sense when demonstrated. I also recommend the above women bc they do well with the camera work...like this young lady, you can see what they are doing with the angle used here.)
THANK YOU!!!!!!!
you’re so welcome!! Good luck on your dress!
Hi! I'm crocheting this right now and using the same type of yarn as you but i feel like my stripes arent creating a fabric as long as yours is (like at 6 stripes yours looked way longer than mine). any suggestions why? i'm using the yarn you linked too!
hi, I'm really excited to make this for a friend, she really loves the colors you use in this video. I was wondering what the names of the colors you used in this specific video are.
Thank you so much for this video!! You seem so sweet
Aw thank you!! I’m glad you enjoyed the tutorial :)
Hi I love your design. Do you stitch a lining on this inside of the dress or is it safe to wear as it is?
It's awesome

Aw of course, thank YOU for subscribing! 💕
Really good job. I think I will try...
Thank you!! I hope you enjoy making it :)
Omg love it this was over pinterest
Thank you!!
thank you, I love your video!! I am such a beginner and I was wondering if there was something I could do to lessen the holes/gaps so the dress isn't so see-through? Would a different stitch work for this for e.g. hdc? or change the yarn or needle size? I would love to make this dress but I'm so clueless aha
you can change the stitch!! normal single crochet would probably work better for you if that’s what you want :)
when i did the gauge it took me 10 stitches by 7 rows to get a 3x3 square, how should i adjust the pattern?
I love this dress pattern but I noticed a bit too far into crocheting that the foundation chain is super tight around my thighs.
If anyone else ran into this problem as well, Gantsilyo Baguio has a video to fix the problem (I think it's called "how to remedy a too tight foundation chain). Was super helpful and made the dress so much more comfortable!
I ran into the same problem, thanks this helped
The solution i ve found is to start with a hook size up with foundation chain.if the pattern calls for 3.5mm hook ,start with 4.00/4.5 mm crochet hook for foundation chain then change back to 3.5mm after chain
Thanks for the heads up, I put the chain around my thighs and my yarn had no give (I’m using cotton). I switched to a chainless double crochet and problem solved! Now it’s stretchy. I also did an invisible join and carried my colors up instead of cutting because I’m too lazy to weave in ends and keep adding yarn, way easier and faster and looked more seamless
I love the pattern this is my first attempt and i am doing a variation- i dont want all stripes only on the bottom and the bra the body is solid white so i wish i knew how many rows in total before the bra starts....
Hey!! These details are outlined in the written pattern (linked in the description) or if you watch the video through once first you’ll be able to catch those points!
Hey love the tutorial! What thickness of yarn is need? Would a double knitting yarn be okay?
Thank you! A double knitting yarn would work, I used Aran weight yarn :)
Thank you so much for this lovely tutorial! May I ask, is it alright with you if the finished dress will be sold?
So glad you enjoyed it! And thanks for checking, you’re welcome to do whatever you’d like with your finished piece 😊
Hey! Love the pattern. If your crochet hook is 3.75mm, what size of hook is your yarn suggested for? Would 5mm yarn work with a 3.75mm hook? Thanks
hm I would suggest checking your gauge to see, depending on that, you might need to make a size smaller than you normally would in order to get the best fit!
Nice colors. I want to make longer. How do I make it into a midi dress?
How many meters of yarn do you use for the xs?
thank you for sharing... FYI - your social media links are broken. I can't get to any of the pages you list.
ah help! my dress keeps coming out too big & i’ve sized down twice :( is there anything i can do? also, thank you for the pattern!
Thank you so much for this!!! For the gauge, is the first row starting with the 10 stitches, or is it the row when you sc across those 10 stitched ?
Thanks so much!! And you can measure the gauge by making a square that’s 10 double-crochets wide and 5 rows of double-crochets tall. That should be about 3inches x 3inches!
@@crocheting my gauge came out as 2x2 inches. do i need to use a larger hook size?
Hi! I'm a tad bit confused. So I am on row 23 at the moment and when you say decrease at the midpoint and end do we do that for seven rows? Or 7 stripes? I am also doing an XS but my numbers aren't adding up to yours. Please reply, thank you! x
i’ve never seen anyone chain/crochet like that but if it makes my hands hurt less i’ll take it
Maybe you’re holding the hook or yarn too tight or your hands are too stiff? It shouldn’t hurt to crochet unless you’re doing it a lot.
Edit: Emma P has a video on crocheting basics. That might help if the problem is with your form.
this was amazing thank you for sharing ! just for clarification, would we hand wash any crocheted clothes ? and are they safe for the washer or dryer ? 😊
You could probably wash on delicate and cold water, but definitely would recommend laying flat to dry. But honestly, hand wash is probably best, depending on yarn material.
I never crochet before but I would love to do this dress using tunisian crochet knit stitch, how would I do that? Would it be similar?
It would look good just as a top
Thank you so much for this video
theres a link in the description that leads you to the yarn, you can see the weight and length there, and then in the description theres also how many yards(or maybe grams) each size needs:)
It's bc there's a dress really famous in pinterest similar to yours, i'm doing mine right now!!
Omg amazing good luck!!
Hi! I am about 30 minutes into the video where we make decreasing chains but when I tried on what I had so far it only reached about the middle of my butt. Would you recommend to keep going with how I was for a couple more stripes until it goes above my butt? Or start the decreasing stitches now? Thanks!
Hey! Yeah in this case you could definitely make a couple more stripes before starting the decreases :) this dress is super customizable so absolutely feel free to adjust and modify to get the perfect fit for you!
I just bought the pattern I’m super excited! However I tested the gauge square after noticing my 116 chain wouldn’t be big enough and instead of 10 sc and 5 rows for a 3 by 3 I had 10sc with 15 rows. Do you know how I would adjust to the pattern? Different yarn, hook (I’m using 4mm at the moment) or just simply do more chains throughout? Thank you!
Thanks so much!! And did you mean sc, because it would actually be double crochet, which could be the problem :)
@@crocheting I think that might be the most obvious dumb things I’ve done to this date! I’ll redo my square now, thank you!
@@sophiepym_ haha no worries hope that helps 😊
May I use this pattern for my own store?
hey:))) for the last three stripes of the skirt do we only do on row for each colour or two like the others??? also for XS at the end how many chains are there cause im gonna do a simple top instead of the cups as it is my first dress and i wanna know how many chains to do for the top:)))
You only do one row for each color, and for an XS you would be ending with 78 stitches :)
@@crocheting thank you so much for the reply and also showing the video I LOVE YOU SO MUCH
@@liyathomas7811 Aw of course!! So glad you like it!! :)
I am working on it and it seems a little see trough. How do I fix it/ what do I wear under?
hi i started working on this dress yesterday, however it's coming out a bit big even though i referred to the sizing in the description. what should i do?
Hi! Hmm depending on what part of the dress you are at, you can add in a couple decreases to your next round to slim the dress in a bit. Just make sure you can always pull the dress over your head without difficulty!
nice
hi! love the video, just subscribed. I only have a 6mm hook. I want to make the XS size, what should I do? is it worth it to go buy a 3.75mm hook
Thank you so much! I’d definitely say it’s worth it, almost all of my crochet clothes are made with a 3.25-375mm hook
I’m not an expert but I’m assuming your gauge may be off a little bit. I would recommend making a gauge square to make sure it’s correct. Around the beginning of the video she said what it was :)
@@theamorgan9749 exactly, a gauge square should be able to tell you more about your stitch size! If you find that your square is a lot smaller than it should be, I would suggest going up a size or two in order to get the measurements you’re looking for :)
heyyy just wondering if i can still make this dress with only two colours of yarn xx
Totally! Just make the stripes three rounds thick instead of two, or just alternate as you normally would between the two colors :)
Hey there, just wondering for refernce what size is the dress in the thumbnail? :)
love the tutorial, I followed the small sizing but it’s turned out absolutely huge…please help!! I’m around the 4 decreases area, should I add more decreases? it’s probably not going to be a bodycon anymore but :(
Aaa! Me too I did an XS and it fits me like a medium. Honestly I know it seems like a lot but depending on the size I would go down 5-10 chains
if gauge you get is 2.7 x 2.9 inches is that okay?
Could you make a bralette version tutorial of this please? Everytime I try the band is way too big lol
I’ve recently released a Bralette tutorial, you could totally adapt it to have stripes!
Hello dear. What if my client is a small up top and xs in the hip area?
how would I be able to make this for a 22/23 inch waist I am making this in the xs size and its huge and it doesn't fit tight at all please help 😫
I’m not sure how this is correct, but I e followed your instructions and this dress is no where close to fitting my daughter, where do I add rows so that it finishes under her bust to start the cups. As of right now it sits just above her waist.
What kind of clothing should we wear under these dresses? Because with the types of stitches u used it looks like it’d be a bit see through?
Do single crochet instead of double
Should i use 3.5 mm crochet hook or 4 mm crochet hook because i dont have any 3.75 available here :((
I don’t have a 3.75 mm book should I use a 3.5 or a 4?
hii! what type of yarn and size hook did you use?:)
Hey!! I used a weight 4 100% cotton yarn and a size 3.75mm hook :)
Can I use cotton Weight #4 yarn
Heeey:) how many balls of wool does this take? This really inspired me but I don’t know how many I need to buy per colour. This video Is perfekt!!! So thankful 🥰
Thank you so much!! And depending on the size you’re making you’ll need anywhere from 2-3 skeins of each color - I would check the label of your yarn to see how many yards are in one, and then make sure you have enough based on the dress size you’re choosing! Hope that helps :)
@@crocheting this helps me a lot. Thank you so much for answering!!! Never stop Crocheting...you´re great :)
Hey, would the cups you made in the video fit a D cup?
Yes for sure!
genuinely asking what type of inderwere would someone where under this bc it has like small wholes and stuff
...so you double crochet in every fourth stich right?I am actually not English sorry! But I love this dress and I really wanna make it
You only do that on the when you are going to make the first row of double crochet after that I’m pretty sure you only skip the first one.
how long would this take a beginner?
hey:) quick ?: is there anyway to make the side of the dress (where you end and start each new color) cleaner? i’m making mine and it looks a little funny and not as clean. i see the same thing happen in all the vids i’ve seen but is there a way to make it cleaner? i’m selling them and i want them to be the best they can be.
Yes I’ve got a few tricks for that! One way is to not count the initial “chain 2” as a stitch, so you would essentially dc into that starting ch-2 space to end the round and slip stitch into the stitch next to the chain-2.
Another option is to start the rounds at different spots on the previous round, instead of always starting at the same space. This helps to “spread out” the changes from round to round so it’s not overwhelming in one side.
Hope this helps!
@@crocheting awesome thank you! one more question! lol, when it’s done and you want to put it on, the top (since the cups were stitched on) is pretty firm and tight and the very bottom doesn’t stretch much either since it’s the very first round, so how do you get it on lol ?😂
@@sabreenamarquez7790 haha great question! I slip it on over my head, since the smallest part around the waist won’t really fit bottom - up :)
I am pretty small (32 bust, 23 waist, 33 hips). To make the dress fit to me, should I just take the difference from the xs and small and add that onto the xs?
Yes that would definitely work to get you to an XXS! Good thinking :)
Hi please help! did you make this yet I am making this in xs size and it's huge and I have similar measurements as you? do you have any tips or know how many stitches you did?
what kind of yarn did you use and size because I used 60% cotton/ 40% acrylic yarn with needle size 3,5-4 mm but my stripes came out smaler?
I have the yarn linked in the description and used a 3.75mm hook :) but totally fine if that happens you can just make a size up or increase the hook size!
