  • French and US officials view trials of the Ford 3-ton M1918 for possible use in the French military to accompany the Renault FT.
Trials by the Direction des Inventions, des études et des expériences techniques
Film produced by the Section de cinématographie technique de la direction des inventions
Original footage is from CNRS Images.
Interpolation frames for the speed correction was performed by RIFE artificial intelligence.
I would like to thank Saumur, Bovington, Militracks, Museum of the American GI, and Panzer Picture for providing the audio for the Renault FT, Schneider CA1, Saint-Chamond, and Schneider CD.

1:40 If that guy can fit in all his getup, in the gunners position no less then it must not be as cramped as most people say. Also note right after that you can see that she is armed when the gun is moving and the officer is climbing in. I always thought the barrel would be longer!

When you go to the website it says circa 1917... I wonder why?

Could possibly be incorrect but I have not checked.

@@AmazingAce It looks like either an early or late model. Because of the extended bogie covers or mud chutes whichever, no sight hole on the side of the gun (the big one like a pistol port not the little one on the mg armor tube), and the maybe a different looking tow hitch.
