中大未圓湖--生物多樣性 | CUHK Lake Ad Excellentiam-Biodiversity

在中大校園出現的植物有超過200種，當中的樹木品種佔全港的三分一。與香港很多地方一樣，中大校園在數十年前是個光禿禿的山頭，後來校方致力植林和保育，使未圓湖的草地、樹冠和池塘等能為多種動物和昆蟲提供食物及棲息地。
未圓湖距離港鐵大學站約五分鐘步程，被教學大樓包圍，充分展現人工生境（如市區公園和花園）如何為野生生物提供棲息地。
CUHK is home to over 200 plant species and over a third of all tree species found in Hong Kong. Like many other places in Hong Kong, a lot of the vegetation cover in CUHK was removed in past decades, making the hilly landscape barren. Thanks to recent efforts to reforest the campus, Lake Ad Excellentiam’s various landscapes of lawns, tree canopies and ponds can now provide abundant food supply and shelter for various animals and insects.
Located within a five-minute walk from University Station and adjacent to buildings, Lake Ad Excellentiam perfectly demonstrates how artificial habitats, such as urban parks and gardens, can serve as wildlife habitats in the urban area.
