  • The Mandalorian Season 3 episode 5 entitled "The Pirate" showcased our new favorite X Wing Pilot stumbling across a derelict Lambda shuttle after his failed trip to Coruscant.
    I have good reason to believe this is the work of GGrand Admiral Thrawn and that we will see him before the Ahsoka Series.

    I’m pretty sure the NR thinks Thrawn is dead and or no longer a threat. Thus Thrawn is allowed to slowly rally remnant Imperials in the shadows. I will be surprised if it isn’t Thrawn.

    Regarding Thrawne's mistakes in Rebels, you're credited for having a long, detailed, interesting book. TV shows have time limits. They tell you that the dude is a badass more on TV shows than in books, in books they prove it.

    Thrawn planted the beskar on the lambda to pit the new republic forces in the oiter rim against the mandalorian faction.

    Either way, Thrawn has to be involved with something somewhere and I might eat these words soon, but I don't think we're going to see him until Ahsoka.

      I think we could see him in the Mandalorian as a really late reveal as the mastermind behind everything after the conflict is resolved or even a post-credits cameo just to prepare us for Ahsoka

    I personally think it was a remnant of Gideon's personal forces that were still loyal to him. After all, we know that Gideon had boatloads of beskar after leading the purge, because that's how his people paid Mando to begin with.

    They've been dropping subtle hints of Thrawn this entire season, but they keep teasing without paying it off. I imagine we'll get our final reveal in the season finale. I mean, they spent how many episodes after Bo-Katan saved Din's arse, where they intentionally focused on him dropping the dark sabre, and her picking it up and saving the day, and then completely ignoring it while most of the fandom is screaming "loophole, she just earned the sabre back without her and Din having to fight!"....

    I think shows with so few episodes a season like The Mandalorian really have no room for sideplots and side quests. Sometimes it feels like the villain is thrust at you too soon, though.

    If it is Thrown then he absolutely would've left it there as a red herring as Teva has suspicions that the Mandalorian's broke Gideon out which will start casting doubt about them to him and the new republic. How will they react when the people they think attacked and killed some of their soldiers come in saying 'we're going to rally an army and take back our planet'

    What this doesn't explain is why Thrawn is on Mandalore. If it is truly abandoned, it does make for an excellent hideout for a small warlord or crime syndicate, but to hide a fleet there? No. A salvage operation to build his new fleet? Maybe. But it just feels too soon for Thrawn to take the stage. This doesn't feel like his moment. This is the moment when a lesser opponent seizes the initiative precisely because the only Republic they could possibly challenge is an inept and complacent one. If they are going to make Starkiller base and the whole sequel trilogy cannon, this would be the way to do it. Such a massive construction would require an enormous amount of resources, which just happen to be laying around unguarded on Mandalore. Such a huge station will take decades to complete, so this is a reasonable time to see its construction begin. Personally, I would rather they give the sequel trilogy the same treatment it gave what came before it, but they won't. So that means that they need to weave the back story for the sequels into this story. That makes this Snoke's moment to rise while Thrawn bides his time. Thrawn is without a doubt the most formidable and badass villain of the Star Wars lore. He should have been the villain of the sequel trilogy, and if his character is to have any justice, he will be the villain of the next trilogy. Except there probably won't be a next trilogy because they flubbed the last one so badly.

      Fr… I’m tired of all these it’s Thrawn because based on the books and Rebels. Plus how the empire operated from New Hope to current time and Moff Gideon’s machination’s. I really doubt even if Thrawn found a way back which I don’t. He wouldn’t have enough clout or backing for the Imperial remnants to follow him. He was never popular with them and his philosophies vs Gideon’s are night and day. Moff Gideon is the perfect villain for Mandalorians as a whole compared to Thrawn who would be out the loop entirely of the current galactic situation.

    The mental gymnastics by people saying it *has* to be Thrawn is going off the scale. First and foremost, why would he be concerned with what's left of the Empire and the clownshow calling itself "The New Republic"? If he wasn't trapped somewhere, he would likely return to the Chiss worlds.
    Could it be Thrawn? Yes. It could also, through a similar stretch of mental gymnastics be any one of a number of Imperial remnant warlords. And it could even be that one of them hit the shuttle, grabbed Gideon, whacked him, and just dumped him in hyperspace to make sure he was out of the way and everyone was running around like blind mice...oh...wait...everyone already thinks that the Clownshow Republic already put him in prison.
    Again, I don't see this as Thrawn's work. Thrawn is supposed to be the "big guy" of Ashoka, so why steal that show's thunder?

    • @takeo_624
      @takeo_624 Рік тому +1

      The only one doing mental gymnastics here is you trying to deny it's him.
      "Why would he be concerned with the empire and the new republic?"
      Have you even read the og Thrawn trilogy? His entire mission was to restore the empire and if that's not what he's trying to do in this timeline... Then why is he the big bad of Ahsoka's series?
      More than that, he's a Grand Admiral, the only people above him was Vader and the Emperor himself, which means he's now one of the, if not the sole leader of the empire so anything that happens regarding it can be traced back to him.
      Ever since Gideon was introduced it was a belief that he was working for someone else, most likely Thrawn, because the whole cloning plot they set up with Grogu is much bigger than Gideon alone. We also have been getting hints through Season 3 that the Empire is somehow more organized than they should be as they're supposed to be just a bunch of moffs trying to keep their men together, one episode straight up says that the empire has fleets way bigger than they should... now, who is known for being able to unify the empire and launch coordinated strikes that always gets the new republic by surprise? I'll let you figure this one for yourself.
      Oh yeah and let's not forget that Thrawn was already mentioned in the Mandalorian. Why people believe he's the mastermind? Basic storytelling. It would make no sense for them to mention him, set him up to be Ahsoka's villain and then make him have no relationship whatsoever to the empire. It would also not take anything from Ahsoka's series, only add, as revealing that he's the one responsible for everything we've seen since Mando Season 1 would only heighten his status as a villain instead of being just a guy that suddenly appeared

      @kfeltenberger Рік тому +1

      @@takeo_624 Damn...I really triggered you! The original Thrawn trilogy is not canon and therefore for me has been superseded by the six books that are in canon. Given that his first loyalty was always the Chiss, your argument fails.
      I could be wrong, but I doubt it. It's too telegraphed.

      @takeo_624 Рік тому +1

      @@kfeltenberger I love talking to people in the internet that take a big text of points and immediately goes "wow you are so triggered" they are so fun and smart
      Unfortunately to you, even ignoring legends, Thrawn's loyalty is with the Empire and even if it wasn't, doesn't change the fact that he needs their military strength to fight the Grysk and it has to be the empire because, as you put, the clown republic is too deep into their own problems to deal with a war against such a big threat so no, my argument stands.
      And how is it "too telegraphed"? Wasn't your entire argument that people were making mental gymnastics to say it's Thrawn? Lol, lmao even

      @@takeo_624 one of us will be correct and the other wrong. Again, people have Thrawn on the brain and for someone so pivotal to the Ashoka show, introducing him here would steal its reveal appeal. Thrawn is, first and foremost, a Chiss patriot and I think that is important to keep in mind.
