Thanks for these videos! I’m starting my journey on production design land, and was very happy to find this channel. Would love to see more about your work! Kind regards from Berlin
I have iPad with keyboard and pencil and have subscribed to SketchUp Go. I’m 3 weeks in and struggling! Just does not seem to do basic drawing. I’ve watched loads of vids and yours is extremely informative but at this stage i wish i had just stuck to pen and paper!
I'm sorry you're finding it a struggle! I agree to an extent, drawing something from scratch on the ipad version is fiddly and I mainly use this as a presentation tool.
Very helpful video! Could you please make a video about the workflow of a production designer and what software production designers use? I'm a film student and I want to learn production design by myself but I have no clue where to start.
Glad you're enjoying the videos! I'm aiming to get an "overview of the Art Department" video out in the coming months. In the meantime, hope you find the other Sketchup and Vectorworks videos helpful!
Nice video. Can you do one about some of the plugins/extensions you mentioned. Particularly anything to do with curves which are a real pain in Sketchup.
Yes! This is a great idea! Sketchup requires a whole bunch of plugins to match even the basic functionality of other 3D/CAD packages. Will do a rundown of the ones I use in a future video.

Glad you're enjoying it! If you'd like to see more of my own work, my website is in the channel description. Best of luck with the journey!
@@SetDesignChannel ooh thanks so much! I hadn't seen it! :)

That's an extensive and well-shot video for discussing Sketchup For iPad. Why no discussion of hardware requirements?
I completely forgot to talk about that! Will make sure to include it in future videos though.
Very helpful
Thanks!
1:04 thank you

I want to design floor plan to house elevation
Is it possible on ipad or should I go for laptop ??? I'm very confused
I would go with a laptop over the ipad version.
which i pad version is needed
According to the Sketchup website, any iPad with iOS 15 or newer installed.
Groups and components are essential, but the program does not make it easy to navigate as tutorial don t show enough
Is it free?
You will need a Sketchup Pro license for it as far as I understand
فاشل تماما والشغل في ايباد راح يتعبك كثيرا
عكس لابتوب
It's more of a presentation tool than anything else. Won't be replacing my laptop any time soon.
