FYI: Glutathione is poorly absorbed orally. It is recommended to take glycine and n-acetyl cysteine which form glutathione in the body. There has been lots of promising research in “GlyNAC” for its anti-aging properties. I take 1000 mg of each daily. It’s recommended that you start taking these at around 45. Just wanted to let y’all know. Love you Alice! ❤
Yep. There is research into injectable forms as well, but idk what this brand is doing with teeny amounts of it in an oral supplement. Maybe people don’t look into it further, I guess. Thanks for sharing!
Hi Alice, regarding APLB, I think exactly the same as you, because I was looking at the percentages of active ingredients and it was an extremely small amount. But I couldn't be happier that you can objectively measure the parameters that change on your skin for the purpose of future videos. I hope you are doing well, and I also have to tell you that I am experiencing terrible heat in Chile and summer hasn't even started yet 🥵
Oh goodness! Stay cool! I’d send you some of the cool weather here today if only the world worked like that. One can wish haha. Hope you have a lovely weekend!
Anua has new barrier cream. Some compare it to Aestura. I'm hoping to see your review on that one:) Make prem has newer pink mineral sunscreen, and it's not drying. They also have good tinted one
I love the Tony Moly gold products. The sheet mask from that line is what I wear to bed the night before anything for which I want to look especially good. I feel like I wake up looking a decade younger when I wear it.
Ooh really! I feel like i stumbled into greatness then. I found myself thinking that if I love the texture of this eye serum, I might like more from the collection!
Hi Alice ❤- I always appreciate and very helpful your reviews and I have found some really good products from watching your channel - thank you so much! I have also learned (the hard way🤥🥴) when something works - why change it? I will always watch to keep informed with the new innovative products and skin care tools. I have decided not to purchase any tools - I am so scared to use them in case my skin starts to act up again. My skin is calm and happy right now - except for my hands (something has gone seriously wrong) they are constantly itchy and small raised bumps will appear periodically and disappear just as fast as they occur. It takes a long time to get into see a derm here in Canada - so I am on a waiting list right now. As always so informative and interesting to watch - have a lovely weekend! 🌸💮🌸
Need to try the Vt pdrn mask, I ordered some of their reti a masks that come with the reedle shot as a first step to try out. LOVE the genabelle pdrn toner. Fragrance free plus lovely cica actives, very hydrating but watery, 300ml!
I have also never found a sunscreen/skin tint combo that worked for me so I own't waste my money on trying this one - thank you! Regarding the device, I'd love to see you use it more and show your measurements. That was super interesting. Have an excellent weekend and stay warm!
I have been using the Paulas Choice Anti Wrinkle Defense for years. Love it but it's expensive and trying to find a cheaper alternative is not a fun task :(.
I really enjoy the VT PDRN mask! I've been using them once a week while I deep condition my hair since it's been so cold & dry here. I definitely agree they help with redness. The VT PDRN serum is really good too.
I always appreciate your thoughts on products, whether trying on new products or when you use several products from a brand over a few weeks. I cannot count how many of the products in my routine that I tried because of your review. While not a Korean brand, I have finally tried Stratia Lipid Gold and I am impressed with how well my my dry/dehydrated mature skin is responding . Yes, please use the meter to do a review of SKII, I appreciate results from your research oriented brain.
The readings from the tool are so interesting. Believe it or not, it was 62° here today. 👀 That sunscreen did go on lile mineral. Have a wonderful week ❌️ ⭕️
I too prefer vegetarian meals at restaurants and will order those over meat based meals :). Thank you for your comments on APLB. Their products look interesting but something about them doesn't sit right with me so haven't tried them.
Good evening! Always glad to see a video of yours pop up on my feed :D I definitely agree with your take on APLB-- I use the glutathione niacinamide serum every day, and for me it's been nice and hydrating with probably some slight properties from the niacinamide. I'm looking at, once I'm done with my current stock, swapping my routine to use the axis-y dark spot correcting glow toner (which iirc has a slightly higher niacinamide percentage) with probably the parnell cicamanu serum. (swapping my toner as well since i'm currently using the isntree green tea toner and like we've spoken about a video or two ago, it just didn't feel like it was doing anything) I do like the APLB glutathione niacinamide body lotion though-- as someone with a very oily face and probably about a normal level of oil on my body, I really don't need a very thick body moisturizer, but especially in the winter it's nice to have something. The light cream texture of the APLB one is just perfect, and I like that it doesn't have fragrance, so it doesn't interfere with any other fragrance I may choose to wear that day. This spurred me to try the body wash from the same line and, as you would say, it's fine. It's a perfectly fine and functional product. I don't know what I was expecting to be honest. I don't know if I'll buy it again, but I certainly have no problems with it. I have a couple things I'm looking at trying in my next order, whenever I end up placing it. One is the recently released Dear, Klairs Midnight Blue Clearing Water Cream (not the regular cream, that one's been around for awhile. this is a /water/ cream!), since I've tried the regular version in the past and it was just too heavy for me, but the ingredients look quite nice and I've heard at least one other youtuber (Tina Tanaka Harris) rave about it, so I really want to give this more oily skin friendly version a shot! Another is a couple of more recent Saborino mask packs. Funnily enough, I also saw these recommended by Tina, and I've been super interested in trying them-- there's a night version of the sakura limited edition now, and a morning mask pack with cica, both of which I'm incredibly interested in trying. Honestly, I might pass on the sakura, just because I definitely mostly want it for the fragrance/packaging/name, but I'll probably pick up the cica version.
That’s such a good point: simple can be exactly what is best, especially with body care products. I know exactly what you mean with the fragrance interfering with perfumes too lol! Yeah, I can see the brand really being great for people that have very basic skin needs, but for more advanced needs - I suspect other brands and products fit the bill better! Those products do sound exciting!
I almost spit my coffee when you brought up the dolphin incident 😅 I feel the same way about snail mucin. I know they don't do anything to terrible or disgusting to gather it but just the concept bothers me more than I feel like it should. Having said that, I did get the medicube PDRN and I like it well enough.
Just had to first say that I was wearing a vintage Star Wars T-shirt while watching this video. Thanks for the in depth discussion, hence the rabbit hole. 😁 🧡 Just got my PDRN vegan bottle, but haven't yet used it. I love to try new products even though I have found my favorites. I'm a proud junkie!! ☺️ Cheers Beautiful!!
I use a pin to puncture the package and get a little serum out to use to test. Then I tape over the small hole and put it ht fridge until I'm ready to use it.
^ that’s a really good solution. My tip would be that it comes with little eye holes and mouth holes (supposedly to place over those areas while sleeping). Realistically, I don’t use those. So I think you could patch test with those if you are like me!
Have you ever tried the COSRX SPF Ultra-Light Invisible Sunscreen? I find it to be the lightest sunscreeen I have ever used. I really like it. I am curious to know your thoughts on it, if you have ever tried it.
The relatively new COSRX Ultra Light Invisible Sunscreen quickly went to the top of my favorite sunscreens list. It is super fast to apply, totally invisible and has an incredibly hydrating effect on the skin. It feels very lightweight and is perfect for summertime. I think you would enjoy it! Try it out.
I I bought my 2nd bottle of SK 11 frkm yesstyle and patiently waiting for it. I wanted to get it from Stylevana but was worried about reviews saying people got fakes in a plastic bottle so i I didn't. Has anyone had experience of this? Great job as usual Alice.
Nah, stylevana is legit, though the packaging may differ as labeling requirements are different in the US vs Japan. I have a very old video about a primera product from Vana vs Sephora if you do want to look more into it Frankly, the only problem with stylevana is their nonexistent customer service. As long as you don’t have any issues, it’s smooth sailing
This is an interesting coincidence but ..whoa thank you for introducing me to the brand! My sweetie is the nail enthusiast and I showed her that website. Mooncat now has a new fan 🤣
I just saw Penn’s video on something related to the salmon stuff. Her friend had injections on the skin in the Uk. Penn had a dermarolling session. Her friend saw faster results. What they saw improvement on was fine line and I think fibro blasts(?). No improvement on hyperpigmentation. Sorry for not being clearer. Maybe there will be improvement once you do the mask more? After all it’s just surface for a few hours. But yea this stuff is very promising. I wonder if you can mix them with peptides 🤔.
have you tried the ciele skin tint it has some spf which is nice (of course not my primary sunscreen) and the finish is beautiful it’s a step up from dewy it’s glassy! also the zinc oxide in it is encapsulated so any possible interaction from zinc oxide to chemical uv filters won’t be a concern!
So agree with you about aplb ! I lowkey feel like it’s false advertising, I got their azelaic acid serum (% not mentioned online) and it has a ridiculously low amount of it in (way less that 1%), which for that ingredient is pretty useless imo. Same goes with pretty much all of their other serums and creams… I do really like their sheet masks, but don’t think I’ll repurchase from them from now on
WHAAAT 😱 I have to look into this sunscreen!! Thank you for sharing! Yeah, funny you mention the sheet mask - that probably was my favorite product of theirs too !
Vegetarian 22 years, vegan 2, and you're right, people get WEIRD over it. I don't mention it until I choose what to eat, and that's when it gets awkward, sadly.
I don't mind essential oils or fragrance as my skin is ok with it, although I had been using Japanese skincare for over 15 years from having lived there as a student, and I noticed that while a lot of Korean brands have fragrance and essential oils but are alcohol free, most Japanese brands do not, and tend to be fragrance and EO free, although tend to have alcohol. I like both J and K beauty with my preferences now being Kbeauty, as I have seen better results from it despite only using Korean skincare for the past 4 years compared to the length of time I have used J-beauty. Not sure why. I find most tone up sunscreens to feel like thick mineral ones, they might as well be mineral and not chemical imo
I think I do agree, with a handful of favorite Japanese products (lion pair; Suncut SPF). And of course now I’ve discovered C beauty for make up haha! But yep, K-beauty wins for skincare overall ☺️
I find PDRN as an ingredient so interesting! I just bought a serum with it from rejuran sort of as an experiment (and also because of a sale lol) I definitely prefer not to know how exactly they source that though bc yikes 😬😂 Actually, last Friday I also tried the pdrn injections just underneath my eyes. It’s supposed to basically just serve as a hydrator and considered low risk so I went for it. Unfortunately, I can’t speak to results because I got such bad bruises from the needle itself that I’m still swollen. 😅 I’m really hoping that goes away soon and I’ll be able to figure out if I really think they were worth it. Anything injected scares me so I’m a bit nervous but hopefully at the very least it doesn’t make anything worse! Also have to give SK II a shout out. I hate the price but Nothing outside of hydroquinone has ever helped my hyperpigmentation other than SK2. I would use it all the time if I could!
@ that is so good to hear!! I don’t know anyone who’s done it!! I’m so curious about the PDRN because I like experiments I probably shouldn’t be doing them on my face lol but these people swore that doing all this stuff at once was fine so I’m just like really hoping they’re right! 😂
I ordered the skin 1004 tone up sunscreen by mistake a while ago. It was god awful. Unless you are stark white… no way. I now know that tone up is not for me.
Would you say it's been worth it? I had a sample size of that at one point but I only managed to get about a month use out of it, using it once per day. And I feel like it's so hard to really know if something like that's doing a lot if you're a skincare enthusiast and you use a ton of other active ingredients.
@@Hiiiiiiiiieeee I’ve been using it for 4 years, so it is for me. I rotate a lot of my other skincare, but I always use the Sam-II twice a day. Even the nurse at my med spa has noticed an evening of my skin tone and smoothing of my skin texture.
