As someone that struggles with programming, you lay out everything in such a simple and easy way to understand, thank you for these videos! I never thought of making a side scroller in RPGMaker, but now I'm very curious to try it out.
This is blowing my mind and I'm totally trying it! Not great with art myself though. Are there demo graphics I can use to experiment with the concepts with?
Hey Eric, on the Itch page you can find sprites of various sizes, as well as of course the sidescroller template that you can use as a basis for your project ;)
does anyone know how to make the interactive stuff anyway? cause i downloaded it, but have no idea how to involve it into the rpg maker. (Btw, made a post about this on itch so hopefully answer is here or there)
The plugin you downloaded is a .js file that needs to be placed in the "js/plugins" folder of your project. To initialize it, open the plugin manager from the engine and add the file you downloaded. By selecting it, you can read information on its use and in some cases modify variables. Hope it helps! ;)
@@sidemv I did that with the other files and it worked fine. I mostly am struggling with the $side sprite commands. Cause I put them in plug-ins and it won't do anything. So if there is a place there supposed to be in, then I don't know where it is. (Also, thank you for responding)
@@sidemv oh, I mean on your site where you download the basic stuff from your first video, there are 3 to 4 extra downloads that are made for the interactive stuff.

@@imconfused4803 Sorry, i don't understand what command or plugin you mean by "$side sprite command".

The sprites you downloaded should be placed in the img>characters folder, not in the Plugins folder. Let me know if that was the problem.
tried everything, icons wont show. anyone have advice?
How would you make the events move?
You can make an event move through the idle, walk and run cycle using the note tag, provided by the "Galv Character Animation" plugin ;)
@@sidemv ty!
