Thank you. I started in the bakery at publix and close by myself most of the time. Never fails I get asked to do this and I've been hella struggling. This video helped a lot
I am so glad you found this helpful. Using your other hand to stabalize the bag helps your piping hand way more than you realize. Also, having the bag twisted nice and tight so you don't have to squeeze as hard and the correct amount of buttercream in the bag. Soft buttercream is also helpful whenever you can. I even try to do some easier piping with my left hand to give my right hand a break. Good luck!
Thank you! I work at a bakery and the icing bags have super small-cut tips since they’re plastic bags, so sometimes they come out squiggly, no matter what pressure I apply - making it look bad. Plus air pockets are sometimes present so when I’m in the middle of writing, a puff of air comes out and ruins it. How can I fix these issues?
So two more tips. If you're writing on a large cake tip 4 will look weird if you're not writing a ton. Go slightly bigger then 4 for bigger cakes. 2nd if you are writing and you go lopsided frequently, or unevenly space your words and have multiple lines like Happy Birthday Mom start with the middle word. In this example do birthday first Its easier to follow along, and it's easy to spot the center of the cake without guessing how much space to save. After just add Happy on top mom on bottom
I use a tip #2 now but when you first start it's easier and looks better to start with a #4 and then work down to a #3 and many people stay there. I prefer #2 a little better. I don't use #1 because it gets clogged too easily. 😊

What size piping tip do you use?
