Hell, the basic US Mre is just backpacking food nowadays with gator aid, and some random name brand candy. The winter mre is almost always mountain house which is pretty good. And these Mexican mre look pretty good.

My thought along through most of it was "wow, these guys are going to get fat having these"..and "wow, these are some lucky dudes," all the while thinking of my little ol' MRE..and me eating it out of necessity..LOL! Until the street tacos..the lime? That took me a second and then I realized that I was being played in a good way..Way to go buddy..I enjoyed it, a fun look at reviewing Rations, Field Rats, etc..

My family lives in Mexico part time. It’s for sure a very snack centric country for sure. No other country that I’ve seen has put as much thought into the small treats as Mexico.

The bread wouldn't keep like that in a ration intended for storage for any significant time. That said, when I watched this video I didn't keep track of when it was posted, and I didn't pick up on the MANY subtle clues that this was fake. I thought this was the real deal! In reflection, you just went down the Mexican aisle at your grocery store. It's really brilliant how subtle the clues were!
Subtle? That shit was packed like a meth pack, if I was near to an airport with that thing I would've get in jail faster than a protestor in the 70's.
There was a whole can of chiles and a whole bottle of condensed milk, it is composed primarily of candy and even though soldiers need a high calorie and fat meals this doesn't make for a nutritious meal when you compare it to any other of the MRE's also none of those things can be prepared in a fast or practically way for being an acceptable MRE.

Son and I watching this video and two things amazed us. The amount of food and number of items you get in this MRE and the second being the Sweetened and Condensed Milk looks like a travel bottle of shampoo. We laughed at the idea it even looks like shampoo on the cookie. Thanks for the review!

Before I retired from the USAF in '09 I don't believe the USA had 24 hr. ration packs like other nations have. I always received MREs as individually issued meals. I wonder why the USA doesn't issue 24 hour packages?
We have them, can't remember the nomenclature name for it or the NSN. They're used for 72 hour forward operations, largely at initiation of entry operations.
