    She is 13yo and has been on stage professionally for about 1 year. My jaw dropped when she performed River. The dress, tambourine the voice the emotion! She is possessed by all the great singers of the past.

      ed reyes ... I think she was possessed in her entire performance ....
      when she sang insane sometimes (part 1 of the video) her expression and
      the way she moved her hands seemed another person in her body ...
      impressive ... every interview she speaks as someone 20 years old... how to explain something like this ?? it's crazy !!

    this is simply one of the coolest things i've ever seen. people keep saying she's going to be big. news flash...she's already big! this is just plain amazing. she's up there orchestrating this whole thing. she's in complete control. brings back memories of her back at the lafayette theatre in ny state. seems like years ago now. she was in complete control then. people are tired of reading it...she's just simply amazing...

    I laughed so hard when she exclaimed 'scream!" and the younger audience took it literally and started screaming unintelligible shrieks haha

    Can’t get enough of River and Stormy Weather. She is just other worldly talented. She is untouchable. I notice there are some covers she will only do once and you never see another recording of that cover. It’s like she is leaving breadcrumbs to people to come and join her on this journey. Blown away.

    Never seen anything like this before. This girl is rewriting the bible of popular music. I know I am gushing but how can you not this girl is one of the most unique performers of all time, and it is all totally natural with her.

      les cox. I don't know of a current 13 yo writing and singing like she does. Stormy Weather is another song she covered. She is no ordinary teen pop singer. She is way beyond that! I saw the fire in her when she sang Dog Days Are Over and posted it on her UA-cam channel when she was 11 years old. I knew then, that this child's Destiny was to perform like all the great ones of the past.

    • @lescox8667
      @lescox8667 6 років тому +11

      I agree she is unique and what makes her so very special is she behaves the way she feels she should and not as others want her to be. Even her dancing on stage is not carefully choreographed it is simple Grace moving as she feels she wants to. It is a s refreshing as a mountain spring.

      I 1st saw Grace on a Facebook post that had gone viral, singing Ex's and Oh's by Elle King sitting on her porch, been waiting for her to surface since and here she is. Beautiful Gal x (I'm from the UK - so didn't even know AGT)

    RIVER. Incredible performance By Grace, with some music in the background and a tambourine. Just by looking at her face you can tell how seriously she assumes her music. She touches your heart oh so much. Too bad most of her audience may be a bit too young to really appreciate the ART in her performance. But this is a GEM to last for a long time in our minds.

    Doug, I hate you right now! I now have to watch this whole show every night before I go to bed, which puts me to sleep an hour later then normal, you have cost me sleep. I went and ordered her new CD, you have cost me money. I'm now trying to find a way to get to one of her concerts, who knows what you will cost me with that one! But I'm loving that I hate you!! :)

    Leon Bridges, how did she do?

    • @chrislatham711
      @chrislatham711 6 років тому +9

      Leon Bridges is fantastic himself, but I think he'd be proud of what Grace just did with his song. That that depth of feeling could come from an upper middle class 13 year old girl who's never known a day of want in her life speaks to her exceptional talent. How many of the greatest blues singers had to experience the soul-shattering hardships of life before they could express it in their song, yet Grace seems able to do it at will, and with utter ease.
      It also makes me wonder how long it will be before top tier song-writers clamor for Grace to record their songs. But what a great irony -- this world class soul and blues singer is also a world class song writer herself, so doesn't have to do anyone else's songs unless she wants to. Just how is it possible that these two remarkable gifts should be manifested through a single individual . . . well, that's the question we all keep asking ourselves, isn't it?

    • @Calers-gu1ib
      @Calers-gu1ib 6 років тому +8

      Chris I guess I could read your ramblings all day, nicely said. I have to say your wrong about her upbringing, she never had an allowance, couldn't get a Uke when she wanted one, there was other things I heard in the last year in a half that tells me her parents didn't hand them anything they wanted when ever they whined, I also feel the big house they have was recent, meaning Dave just got a promotion at LG and is moving up in life a little before Grace hit the AGT show and we don't get to see a modest house before that. I'm from a large family and I didn't realize how poor we really were til I looked back on life in my 40s and Grace doesn't sound privileged to me when she speaks, it's hard to hide, Miley reeks of it. Soul comes from a state of mind not where you come from

    • @Calers-gu1ib
      @Calers-gu1ib 6 років тому +1

      Marcin I'm dying to see that

    • @chrislatham711
      @chrislatham711 6 років тому +5

      Agree with you about Miley, and am so glad Grace is nothing like her. But I think you're equating lack of want with being spoiled, and that isn't really what I meant. I was looking more at the dichotomy of what life was like (especially formative years) for so many great artists of the past, versus Grace's pretty bland, middle class upbringing. Seems the most difficult thing she's ever had to endure was her treatment at school, which she admitted didn't rise to the level of harsh bullying, but was more of a snootiness against her. My only point in all this is that it seems most great artists draw from real life experiences (both good and bad) to imbue their art with life. But Grace simply could not have had these sorts of real experiences to draw upon. Yet she still manages to invest her singing with feelings that appear genuine, as if relating a difficult experience she herself has had to endure. She's either faking the feelings -- and doing it quite believably -- or her empathy works on overdrive and she really can imagine what utter fear, desolation, hopelessness, despair, and about every other sort of personal torment must truly feel like, and then, right at the moment needed, sing it as if she's lived it. I'm leaning toward the latter explanation, since she herself has often talked of imagining herself in someone else's shoes -- real or fictional -- and then thinking about how they'd feel about the situation.

    • @Calers-gu1ib
      @Calers-gu1ib 6 років тому +1

      Chris Latham good explanation again, it must be the same with Angelina Jordan, but being like 6 when she mimiced 50's soul singers she had no idea singers reached for those tones to depict true loss and sorrow. You don't,t need a knife in you gut to know it hurts. Starving children in Mexico if they survive love their mother just as much in later life as privileged American kids, not sure y I said that
