Total displacement on the gt500 is 7.85 liters and on the vette 7.9 liters including the blowers. Gt500 comes with way more hp stock and costs more than a c7 z06. Not sure how you are missing all of this.
@OneSvT you didn't notice this is a c7 not a c6 which were known to be light weight. The c7s put on a lot of weight. They are in the ball park of 3600 lbs with out any fluids in them. I had one on the scales with the driver in there. Driver was about 190 and the c7 tipped the scale at 3900lbs+ .closer to 4000lbs So no, they are not 600lbs apart per your theory
The outcome i expected. But to be fair i own a C7Z with headers, catless X-pipe, CAI and E50 tune makes 700whp so my guess is the Z probably puts down comfortably over 800whp with all those mods. I haven't raced a GT500 yet.
Considering the weight difference I don’t know what else would be expected, the cars are probably making roughly the same horsepower, 500 has more aggressive aero and larger frontal area. Would love to see it fbo and ported supercharger for a rematch, I think it would be fairly evenly matched.
