FOLLOWING the closure of Woolworths on Main Street, it is said that Rutherglen is set to become a ghost town due to the effects of financial crisis. But what do local Ruglonians think? We took to the Main Street to find out.
5 years on...It's officially a ghost town
There is something else very dark happening here... called voice to skull.... and silent sound operating in this community. Designed in 1938... and driving people nuts some know,some don't ..

If you want a hair cut Rutherglen is the place to go. There must be about 40 hairdressers from Burnside to Rutherglen.

Rutherglen is a staunchly protestant town, even though there's a chapel and a Romanist primary school you will find those who attend them are the "soap dodging" type.

Asda along at Toryglen, Tesco down at Farme X...these supermarket chains are the main reason the local shopkeeper is being forced out...Rutherglen Main St aint any different from other localities
