Thank you to all my Patrons! - Розваги
Bad Brains are straight legends and accomplished musicians.
I was into the DC punk scene as a teen in the 80s. BB was my favorite band then and still are today.
Greeding from north Germany..
1985,, we,, (a bunch of Punks). Made a camping Trip to Denmark,, (Only 100 mls away).. We took about 400 cans of beer with(cause it, s very cheap here) but only one music tape-the first,, Bad Brains".. So it burned into my head😄😄.. But still love this Band today. (hope you could understand, my English)..?
Try Punk from here:
,, Slime-mea culpa"(about sexual abuse to children by church members) *fahr zur Hölle! Means :go to hell!
Or. :"Jennifer Rostock - Kaleidoskop" enjoy another language ✌️🎸🍺
They were never nu metal, they did in influence nu metal but they are waaaaaay older than nu metal
Beastie Boys called the Bad Brains the best band in the world. The development the band made is spectecular. From being one of the earliest really fast Hardcore punk bands, also writing and playing excellent reggae songs, taking the groove into metal with the I Against I album already in 1987 with a top notch production by Ron St. Germain, they were always leading the way. Love them. Also after all the vinyl, bad Brains was the first CD, that I ever bought, back in 1993.
These guys we’re playing when you were eating Cheerios off of your high chair.
Bad Brains changed the map.
My favorite Brains song
You are totally making "First Bad Brains Face".
Wait until you hear "Re-Ignition", you'll lose your mind.
These guys kick ass! Just check out more
considered the most talented and down from the early 80's post thrash punk era.. considered greatest punk band ever and weirdly the greatest american reggae band ever arguably.
Black dots had a huge influence on Dave Grohl, the band began to be inspired by Bob Marley and the philosophy of the Rastafarian faith, their music truly is beautiful
The song that got me into Hardcore Punk way back in 1989 - my favourite band of all time. Btw, they are not Jamaican, they are American and from DC.
Hudson brothers born in
UK to Jamaican parents
Agree, but brought up in America. Hr and Earl lived in Liverpool UK for a few years and I think spent a short time in Jamaica at most - but could be wrong.

HR's Dad American, Mum Jamaican, born in England
System of a Down cites Bad Brains as a big influence. You're welcome.
I believe BB is not just father of hardcore punk but father of nu-metal and alternative rock / metal too.
they're not Jamaican, they are black dudes from D.C. They are indeed rastas, but that developed from their love of reggae, which they got into after fusion and punk.
HR's mum Jamaican, he was born in UK
Check out their older records....you may dig the funk of I Against I record.
Compression on bad brains and Prong works 💪
Need to react to “ I against I “ and “Rise” by bad Brains
You have no idea how talented Bad Brain truly are we’re etc concerts at Mississippi Nights etc
literally the Phoenix’s from Egypt come to listen .’,.
Plz check out their early stuff…
The reason you hear SOAD and RATM is because Bad Brains influenced them and most metal, punk and alternative bands of the 80s, 90’s and 00’s. Several major artists will proudly proclaim they were influenced by the Bad Brains
and SiM, Japanese band thought probably through bands influenced by the Brains.
The legend...
This song is only one song....they have a lot of stuff with different sounds...keep checking it out
Compression was the sound of the punk rock era… and also the sound quality of cassettes wasn’t anywhere near where digitali is now.
Thanks wave for answering my request. You are right about the compression.
This band never got to mainstream (was almost there), but musicians, bands loved this relatively unknown band.
Drummer from Nirvana Dave Grohl was influenced by Earl Hudson from Rock for Light album era and as you picked, rage against the machine is amongst few dozens of major bands cite them as their artistic influence.
Rise album (1993) is probably their most balanced album that covers 90% of their diverse sound, and the sound is more polished and approachable. You'll see how other bands got inspiration from this band very clearly.
I think the Brains are the most obscure, yet most influencial, important band in music history in my personal opinion.
If you are interested, check out this album in your spare time. Have a lovely weekend and thanks again for reacting to one of my most favourite bands.❤
Absolutely!
in regard to the sound quality. This is all analogue. The vinyl album is mastered for stereo sets and the official video was remastered/compressed for the video to sound good when being played over the simple speakers of analogue TV sets. Also the actual video tape has a smaller dynamic range than the vinyl album. I would guess that someone digitalized the bad sound from an old video tape to load it up on youtube. There you have it. I actually like the video better, because the sound is fatter, but this is only me.
If only the Brains were on Octave Records.
they are not jamaicans but they did become rastafarians
