Great coverage of sporting infrastructure that is free to use. Exercise during COVID lockdown is vital for keeping the spirit alive, whether it be shooting the hoops or simply doing a neighbourhood stroll to the local park. During our winter down here in Melbourne, I had a regular set of circuits to do, including a great Sunday one to the local multi-purpose park for doggy socialisation. While the dogs went nuts in a dog lead free area, all their human friends got together to catch up with the local gossip. Great to see you collaborate with Mike on this one.
There is also Gleneagles Elementary School in West Vancouver, near Horseshoe Bay. It has a picturesque view of the mountains, especially around sundown when the sun hits the tree covered mountains!😩😩😩
@@JoelSchat It was pretty wild. A couple friends and I had gone to Kits to see if we could play with the "big boys" but there was no way we were good enough to play so we were just watching when this little car (a Honda Civic hatchback if I remember correctly) pulled up and we watched this incredibly tall guy haul himself out of the passenger seat and it was Wilt the Stilt. We couldn't believe our eyes. He played for a while and then got back in the car and took off.
@@JoelSchat my dad used to play beach volleyball with Wilt at kits beach. Got tons of photos, and they used to go out to the pubs afterward where Wilt was quite the attraction.
I remember some 4 years ago, this was my channel - I used to watch all the vlogs in Hawaii and timelapse Tuesdays - but youtube stopped recommending even though I was subscribed - I cleared my youtube history and they started showing old videos and yes Joel Schat haha
Thanks so much for following along! I'm so glad to hear that. I'm back into regular posting so I hope to continue entertaining and finding time for timelapse Tuesdays!
Surprised you didn't in depth feature the courts at Empire Fields, those are always my go to in case the Nash Family Court is unavailable as its just a few minutes walk away on the other side of Hastings Park. And while not lit themselves, there is enough ambient light from the fields spilling over to play late into the evening, huge plus!
Good to know about the ambient light at Hastings park. So to get this right, in a 2 block radius there is the Steve Nash Family Court, Empire Fields (Plateau Courts) and the Hastings community park courts across the street? Wow that's a lot of hoops!
The Steve Nash rims are too low, so they shouldn’t have gotten a 10. The Granville Island rims are also bent. It makes it easier to shoot. But the nets also are never taken down, so it’s always half court there.
Haha can't believe this video exists!! I've just travelled to the area to for a project to shoot a basketball scene so this is PERFECT!
This could totally be a series! Best beach volleyball courts, best tennis courts, best skateparks, best soccer fields, best par 3 courses, etc! :)
That's a great Idea! We were thinking of doing the best donut shops next :P
Indoor courts next please. Thanks.

Found you through “Creator on the rise” and loving your videos so far! Especially basketball videos :)

bro that cinematic edit got me jaw dropped, I underestimated it in the beginning haha
Great video. How about Stanley Park Courts?
nicely shot and edited
love the local content! Thank you!
Thanks so much Robert!
Nice vídeo! I’m going to Vancouver next month and I hope to play with you guys!
Nice. I am gonna try all courts
Back in 1979 or 1980 I saw Wilt Chamberlain playing at Kits. It was the best back then as it is now.
Wow! One of the all time greats at Kits! That's so cool

Very nice and helpful video. Just wanna know these courts are all public or private?
They are all public!
Great courts. I'm partial to the ones near water. Beautiful photography. Both of you guys look like naturals. Poetry in motion. Maggie looks good too.
Thanks Pete! I am definitely a fan of the one's on the water as well. Nothing quite like hearing the waves on the beach shore while shooting hoops!
Nice video! I am currently doing this for the courts in my area.
Ty
Supporting local! Liked and sub!
Thanks for the sub! I really appreciate it!
thank you so much for this because i am trying to find some new hoops to play at
How about indoor ones? For the wet seasons
Nice video man!
Minus kits, which court u think has the most amount of players there so u can consistently get runs in?
Mount Pleasant for sure
in other province, do they have a lot of outdoor court?
Great vid, you should do this with like donut shops or restaurants
Thanks for the advice! I just finished up a donut video!
just moved to vancouver a months ago for uni, havent played ball in months but im down if you are
Dude never knew you were a Hooper!!
Some great courts out there and it looked like you had a great time. It was probably a tie between you and Mike Cheers
You gotta check out Pandora Park and Plateau Park
Plateau Park is the extra hoops I showed near the Steve Nash Family Court but Pandora Park looks amazing! I'll definitely go an check it out.
Can anybody tell me where exactly that steve nash court is? I cant look it up on the map without the real address
Its right beside the PNE
wish ottawa had courts like this
One more to add next time: Norquay Park.
Yesss I saw photos of this one but couldn't find it!
11:00 new?
Can you do lower mainland?
Yup, that will be the next video in the series. Any must see hoops you can recommend?
@@JoelSchat I would add Evergreen Park in Poco

Reppin arcteryx
Aren’t there any covid 19 prohibitions in outdoor public courts ?
There are some guidelines, you are still allowed to get out and shoot hoops tho.
13:50 : tough
2:10 travel??
haha I think so.. there is definitely one other travel I noticed in the video as well :P
@@JoelSchat hah fair! But great video.
Stop hacking me!!
This city is a total disrespect to the game of basketball, call up on your mayor for some construction projects dude.
how the fuck Vancouver gon have better courts then toronto smh
