First, you will need to get the ratio of rice grains to water (1 cup of rice grains / 1 cup of water), so measure the amount of rice grains for your rice cooker. Every rice cooker has a limit on how much cooked rice the rice cooker can handle, be sure to read the limitations of your rice cooker!
Second, measure the amount of water you need for your rice (1 cup of water per 1 cup of rice).
Third, plug your rice cooker in and hit the white rice or brown rice button depending on the grain of rice you’re using. Wait and enjoy your cooked rice!
Pro tip: If you want your cooked rice to taste better, use flavoring or replace water with beef or chicken broth.

Hello, well, on my rice cooker, I have a stream drain valve, so my question is...
Are you put close or open this valve, when the rice Cooker are cooking...?
if y’all know how to cook rice so well why tf you here? 🤷🏾♂️
Actually being honest I dunno
FRR I was cooking spam and then looked in my rice cooker and saw why tf is there no rice, like who tf eats spam without rice
Bruh bitches now and days come to comment sections to bully since school/work places ain’t enough apparently 💀
Because of Uncle Roger.
cause idk how to use a rice cooker, i cook it the traditional way in a pot and just boil it
I love how you celebrate the sound of the rice hitting the pot. What a nice moment.
*rice moment
Hi Spath! I’m an upcoming college student (computer science major) and just got my dorm. I’ve never cooked before so my mom bought me this rice cooker to try it. I love this so much and you helped me not burn my dorm down 😂. Thanks for showing me the ropes and keep making the amazing videos!
Cs major here too
same major but i’m struggling rn ngl
@@Woktivist I struggled for a little bit too but my professor was able to show me a little more. Idk if your college/university has a tutoring for it but I’d look into it
Wash your rice before cooking, too much starch, in the rice
same
you didnt clean your rice hiyahhhh
Who else slaps a sack of rice when we see one?
Zuhair Alauya me lol
Ahh yes the good ones
*Slaps the top of the sand boi*
Lol ik right
Why he be sayin beautiful the whole time lol
Thank you so much for this. I can now finally master the art of rice making.
That’s a fancy cooker.
Mine only have one button. Cook when pushed down and warming when pushed up.
Just a classic old one that weights the water and rice.
Same
What kind of rice cooker you have ?
Wash the rice!
I think it depends on the people
yes, washing it makes it fluffier and more sticky :)
@@froggyslap The opposite, actually. Washing it removes the starch from the rice, causing it to stop sticking to one another.
@@snaplash Most rice won't have bugs on them, at least I've never seen any bugs in rice before. Anyway, it all depends if you want your rice sticky or not.
@@MyTopAnime u right,it needs to be wash to decrease the starch n infact clean n healthier
Thank you! You just taught me how to cook rice for the first time.
I got a Tiger rice cooker with a steamer basket and honestly it drastically reduces my cooking time and clean up time. So much so that I'm eating healthier now whereas before I would avoid cooking at home because it was too much of a chore so I would eat out a lot. But now it's so easy to toss together ingredients to slow cook chili or hard boil eggs in the steamer basket as a stew is cooking. I use it for a lot of things other than just rice. I can't imagine living without it now. I can see why some people buy premium rice cookers for up to $300 because they do so many things and save a lot of money on electricity.
It was funny this “sound of the rice in empty bowl” 🤣🤣🤣 this made my day
Excellent video. I always use Basmati rice for the Aroma, and I use 1 1/2 cup of water bc Basmati rice expands 2 x it's size, and I also noticed you didn't rinse the rice.
No need to rinse rice
@@ts7844 why not
@TheEditor107 No its not. jasmine rice doesnt taste that good for me. basmati is much better.
you should use the rice that you like the most. lol
Learning lots about rice cause I’ve never made it before n just got rice cooker ☺️ I’m great at cooking so hopefully will get the rice done right first time lol 😂
I don’t even have a rice cooker. I’m just here to watch you
Much appreciated! 😁😁
Devil machine...
I cook rice in a pot but considered getting a rice cooker because lately I don’t have the time to get the oil heating up and turning the rice periodically. I’m considering getting a rice cooker, but I don’t know how to use one, thank you for making this
This, for myself, is the absolute BEST Rice Cooking vid on YT. Quick & to the point, with GREAT points and no children playing around & talking or unnecessary yapping. Please don't get me wrong, I love watching parents teaching their children how to cook, but some vids with children, begin playing around, with SO much talking, I lose my train of thought. But ABSOLUTELY not this vid. When I was a child & my mother would be teaching my sisters & I how to cook, we were NOT allowed to play around & talk. We spoke, of course, but ONLY questions pertaining to the dish we were trying to learn to prepare. So, please don't think I'm being rude. Anyway, MANY, MANY thanks for a REALLY great rice cooking vid !!
I couldn't agree less
How rude
Thank you sir, straight to the point....
I think people that looked for a video on cooking rice most likely have an old school rice cooker without the settings.
You basically showed us how to pour ingredients in a machine.
Christ, you must love rice! You have a bucket of the stuff
Love rice, eat it at least once a week lol
@Victor Smoker Impressive! Someday I'll upgrade to 2 buckets... lol.
@@TuNgo Thats not much, I basically eat it every single day, sometimes twice a day
@@gersongaete1574 i eat it 3x a day. lol
@@catedoge3206 I used to eat it 5 times a day when I was doing my prep, it was for my diet, I don't really want to eat it that much but I like eating it at least once a day
Thank you for the video helped me out on how to make sticky rice on this. I appreciate it. By way, just want to let you know. if you see any rice floating on your water remove it. It’s fake rice, and will give you stomach aches. Rice should not float on your cooking pot. 🙏♥️
I always thought you had to rinse the rice.'
I occasionally will do that. The steps are still the same :)
Wash it well it is coated with chemicals
Orange Mint no three times dont want the bugs to hide
You dont have to
@@kevaughn1012 I'd soak it to remove a lot of the arsenic in rice
You don’t need to measure cups, you can use any unit. Or you can fill the water so the rice is one knuckle below the water. It comes out good every time for me. I have big fingers, and I like it well done. But medium fingers give you perfect rice always.
It’s easier to remember that whatever cup you take for rice you need 1,5-1,8 of the same cup of water.
@@kisutis Or it’s easier to measure and count nothing at all. No measuring cups, no counting anything. Just one knuckle.
@@davidwavidshmavider well I learned from my grandma - it’s 1 to 1,5, be it rice or buckwheat. Can differ a bit depending on type of rice but it’s not more than 1 to 1,8 usually.
As a side dish for today’s dinner will be amazing ❤️❤️❤️❤️
in his defense, the rice bag that I have (kokuho brand) says "washing is not necessary" on the back and my Asian mom doesn't wash her rice + it always cooks nicely so...
The only reason to wash the rice is to remove starch which makes rice more sticky. it wont affect you or isnt bad for you in any way no matter if washed or not. i just wash mine coz i prefer it to not be sticky :P
The instructions at 3:32 Really helped!!!
rice is my favorite food...mainly just by itself😍idk why but i could literally live my whole life hours eating rice so i’m gonna he living by myself soon and am gonna use rice cookers since my mom can’t cook for me anymore😂
heh.. same here
Thank u bro this actually save my life from dying totally
MrBanana wash the rice it’s in chemicals and starch 😳
@@lilyyyd.4739 👍🏻
What happened to the 2 to 1 ratio? Did miss it?
Purchased a rice cooker (not like this one) two or three years ago...hopefully it'll still work....forgot it was there....thanks for the video because I threw the directions away I'm sure....gonna try my cooker this weekend
Thank you very much, now my friend know how to cook rice.
Tonton michmich half thai half russian
Nice and easy, as I thought. I never used one myself yet. I barely eating rice, but then I went to the Philippines and they sure like rice. I'll travel with my partner to my country, and just thought I may need get myself a rice cooker hahaha, it sure worth having if making rice frequently I believe.
It should rinse 2-3 times then drain water do repeat. Done! Now you need to leave final water in that rice then put in rice cooker. Push to start and it will be fluffy rice! Remember ratio water rule. 2:1 (2 water cup to 1 rice). Most commonly is that you can use 1:1 in most cases. Just make sure it doing correctly.
Also, I’m Asian so I heard most of the cases they have been doing wrong entirely time. It’s not how it works to cook perfect or good rice.
Thanks babe. Was making some orange chicken, wanted some rice on the side but it's been so long I forgot how to use my cooker. Now I'm gonna go monch.
I’m Asian and kinda embarrassed I even had to look this up
Same here mate😭😂
Indeed😂
My rice cooker just beeps when the rice is cooked. First time I just lifted the lid and took the rice - I didn't fluff it up, Will do now :)
Thank you
Haha great video. My mom would be proud of my rice now
Thank you for this video, I forgot how to cook rice so now im watching this!
Depending on the rice there are variants where there is no need for washing as it is pre washed at factory. But i like to wash/rinse mine first
Do I press the power button once the rice is done cooking?
This is exactly how my mum taught me :)
Same here! :)
Wow you don't wash the rice either
You don't wash the rice? That is weird not washing it. I usually put the rice in the freezer for a couple of days before storing in a container outside . This I was told to kill any larvae eggs , maggots, insect eggs etc. I once opened a bag of rice and saw a lot of the rice moving. It was white maggots that look like the rice kernels. Had to throw out the whole bag of rice.
Seemed basic but I’m still amazed by it
I'm amazed by it every time I make it... lol
Do you not rinse your rice off?
That's funny, you love the sound, I love how it feels when it's in water
Thank you, buddy It was my first experience
I made some lip smackin rice thanks to this video. But I washed mine.
Should steam valve be on or off when cooking?
bro didn't even wash the rice
Yup, like a lazy dude. Hahaha thanks for the vid bro.
The rice 🍚 it's all ready wash and prepare when you put it in those buckets
My mom told me i have to learn how to cook rice, video is very helpful
Mine only has 5 buttons, and im reallyyyy confuseeee😩
5? I only have 2
Rj Loughan reallyy🥴
RIP
Thank you. I feel like a chef.
Trying to make sweet rice with oat milk . In rice cooker but I bought a cheap one to find out if it’s something I’d get use out of . No cut off, no settings just on and off
Thanks for taking the time to make this video. God bless you in Jesus' name :)
One thing i learned in this video is, everything is beautiiiiiful😲
The chicken broth is a really great idea!
That rice looks so fluffy! 😍
THIRTY MINUTES? bruhh im hungry NOW... i guess ill have to eat some snacks until its done 😤 thx for the tutorial
Please rinse your rice first
Seriously!
I was so glad to see that this was the same rice cooker as mine lol
Dude I made rice and I didn't burn down my kitchen. Thanks
Accidentally pressed the brown rice button when cooking white rice and every single Asian rice god got in a line to individually kick my ass until the cooking process was done.
10/10 would bring dishonour to my family again.
He didn’t clean his rice
My mom would be ashamed.
@Rew me too
I mean he put the bowl on the floor lol
I love the measuring cup for water that’s genius
I just cook it! Takes 8 - 15 minutes. And it is perfect.
10% of this video is plugging the cord into the outlet
Very good . But I’m confused as to who wants to wait 30 mins to an hour for rice to “cook” in a machine when you can just boil it ??? what’s the difference ?
Very good clear instruction thank you
"just shove it right in there"
😁
😏 lol
@@jimtina4670 😔
@@undog146 why u sad lol.
Did you use the plastic cup to measure the water?
I don’t know why my rice sticks to the bottom ?,,, I tried everything 🙈
Is your rice cooker a cheap one? Mine is, expensive ones don't seem to show this issue😊
White Swan slight flex
White Swan brand please
Make a rain stick bro. Xmas wrapping paper tube. Nails all through it. Tape off one end, put in the rice. Tape off open end. Enjoy
Gross, wash your rice and don’t put your stuff on the floor
SuperCoolTony shut up
@@pim1881 go eat your unwashed rice loser lmao
My rice cooker doesn't have different rice functions 😳 just a cook and heat function
Me too
That's for making the video easy and simple 👍
I was taught to rinse the rice in cold water first. Also to add a lil oil. Homeboy didn’t do either one. Does anyone have feedback or wisdom regarding this?
I came here to cook rice in my rice cooker... luckily I read the comments first... I just washed my rice until the water was clear! Now it’s cooking.
I like adding garlic cloves as well
That's a man serious about his rice. Rice in a spackle bucket :)
I was just here for the water/rice ratio, but you made it more entertaining
Two questions what do you press for basmati rice and also Can you add olive oil to this
Does it play a tune? It’s weird to hear one without the tune.
It still ended up looking kinda dry huh. I guess dif than I expected but looks good. What’s dif between long grain and short grain and enriched? And how does it know how much rice you put in there and how is this different from a crock pot or something
Luv that sound too
I like your voice mate so calming 👍
Hey, so you ignore the lines within the pot itself? My cooker has a certain line that tells me how much water to put in for a certain amount of cups. But the result is just.. way too moist.
Life skills. Thanks bro
How do you keep the little bugs 🐛 away in that big container you have?
this video helped me lots thanks 👍
Every time my rice just goes sticky! I’ve washed it very very well, Added the correct water and it’s still going it? Help!
Professional cooking like it bro keep it up 👍
I thought there was more to a rice cooker. I recall my mother mentioning putting in salt and garlic (tasted great btw)
Thank you so much my whole family is sick and I'm only 10 and I'm making my family dinner
My asian ass not knowing how to cook rice in a rice cooker.
Now I can cook rice :>
What if I am using Jasmine rice?
Do you put salt?
I’m saving this thanks bro
Idk why but i love rice
What is the difference with a pan over stove ? Just out of curiosity. Is it just the stove vs cooker ? I never used a cooker before I am curious.
me too...I make rice on the stove in less than a 1/2 hour or an hour...I don't get it..someone please share
Bro thanks I was doing this for an assignment
