Tully Blanchard, Arn Anderson, Barry Windham, and The Nature Boy Ric Flair: Without any question the best Four Performers Ever Assembled as a Unit. All Great Workers and in my opinion Tully shined the brightest among his fellow Horseman on many of occasions.
Best heel in wrestling from 84 to 89
I tuned into JCP for 4 years every saturday and my main goal was hoping to see Tully get his ass kicked.
When Dusty came in the Midnight Rider outfit and attacked Tully at the end of a program that was the happiest I felt at the end of a JCP TV program
AA said he sent some guy to go buy Andrea 3 more bottles of wine
Tully Blanchard's heroes of wrestling promo is STILL one of the best promo i heard in my life!!!
ua-cam.com/video/Ea2MLyFtrpY/v-deo.html
I would just curse at the tv every time dusty or someone would be able to get a belt someone would interfere and i threw the tv down a few times ! Thanks for your talent Tully and the memories
Tully Was So Talented And Was The Best Heel That Ever Worked In Jim Crockett Promotions Days !!!!!!
Tully was such a cool heel.
Tully Magnum was a great feud in 1985.
Tully made the 4 Horsemen fabulous.
WCW made a big mistake not resigning Tully to reform the original 4 Horsemen.
James, great interview! If and when you interview Tully again, please ask him about Adrian Adonis. They did cross paths in Texas.
They worked together with Gino and Bert Prentice who was gay in rl. Tully gave Bert his start as Christopher Love.
Tully has a great look. I remember watching him, and Barry Windham on NWA when my cousin would come babysit us. Then we'd go put the figure 4 leg lock on each other to see how painful it was. Pizza and wrestling. Can't beat it. Thanks for making my childhood memorable
Only thing more boring than a Tully match is a Tully promo only thing more boring than a Tully promo is a Tully shoot
Did realize I didn’t need my ambien tonight I have Tully Blanchard
Enjoying this interview. Tully has a rep for being prickly but he genuinely seemed to have fun here
YES JAMES AND TULLY IVE SO BEEN WAITING FOR THIS!!!!!!
Had the privilege to meet him. What a super guy. Good bless him.
I can't imagine Tully as a BabyFace.
Tully had heat !!
James wrestles answers from Tully like a real pro, well done. 😅
James, great interview. I enjoy hearing Tully tell stories. He is definitely a diplomatic presenter. That leaves a person a way out😂
In regards to the "Old Timer" who had a diet of garlic in the Carolinas, it could have been Abe Jacobs. I heard that at one time he would eat purple onions like apples. Abe recently passed away at the age of 95. There may be a lot to say about the regimen. He also kept himself in good condition.
I wonder if Tully told James to not ask him about Tessa.
She's still wrestling but it's sad that Tessa is only wrestling in the indies.
CHILDHOOD HERO right there! I thought he was just 😎 COOL! I also like how he pauses and thinks about his answers instead of just shooting from the him a bunch of nonsense.
For my daughters 4th birthday she got a 4Horsemen photo signed by Tully Blanchard 😍
Just watched a 85 show from World Championship Wrestling n it's famous Ric Flair its hard to hold these gators down show . Every top guy promo is on point ! Tully n TA angle is right before they have the match they both get carried out which leads to I Quit Match .
Heat, heat, heat. Tully had heat.
Very business man (very professional) great work ethic and dedication to the business one of the best !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Patterned himself after the all time hero’s that enhanced his persona !
NEVER afraid of hard work !!!!!!!!
Brain Busters vs The Rockers so many classics.
Tully reminds me of Kevin Wacholz. He's always on his guard, as if he's afraid of Gotcha situations.
Because he is. Afraid somebody will ask about Gino and what happened between him and Joe
Generally I don't stick with i interviews this long but this I stayed until the end. Tully was always my favourite Horseman. Listening to him you can tell why, he was a pure professional without over indulging which ruined other greats.
One of the best movies ever, also Rocky, Rudy, Big Troublr In Little China....da classics!
I'm gonna throw a flag on Tully saying that he faced Dory while Dory was the World Champ. Dory's final year as champ was 1973, which would have made Tully 18 or 19. And I've seen that Tully's rookie year was 1975.
Brutal ….he gave nothing… poor James I bet he was frustrated
You are one of the best Greensboro 1 4 Horsemen still rule the best of the best Thank you Tully for all the great wrestling matches
New subscribers ❤
That was like pulling teeth, good job James..
Tully Blanchard was a great heel, the scumbag heel that would be your friend smile to your face then steal your wife or girlfriend 😂😂
Legitimate, legendary... The Horseman. Wrestling Legacy. 🤝🤝🤝 One of my favourite pro wrestlers of all time.
"You know, all I do.....in life....is get dressed QUICK"👈🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Alot of great heels in wrestling over the years ,personal fans, muraco, shieky baby, terry funk, flair, piper, gino hernandez, brody that being said Tully was right up there in that conversation ,seemed like such a arrogant ,smug jerk ,he played his character well, and the slingshot suplex I don't think I've ever seen anyone else use that very signature and memorable, also loved the late great adrian street, beautiful bobby eaton, ravishing ric rude
Every other answered question, Idk😅
What do you think about "new era" promotions breaking away from traditional choreography (arm & wrist lock exchange, snapmares, irish whips into leap frog/clothes line, sleeper head locks, roll up/small package pins, suplexs, tag team stratgems)? ...
Truly was the perfect heel. He had a sneer, a 24/7 look of contempt towards the crowd that seemed legit, not put on. Regarding his not answering questions or being diplomatic, I attribute that to his being in the prison ministries, that he's not *really* going to dish out gossip or talk bad about folks 🤷
45:44 best answer ever
Good interview, although the Name Association segment was a bit disappointing, as Blanchard seemed reluctant to name names.
I thought they were interesting segments with Tully. Did he ever talk about his rose colored glasses back in the Crockett days?
...favorite/impressive debut? If Sting or Nikita Koloff is the choice... I'd like another choice, please.
BROKE BACK CUPCAKE!
I got a CMPunk story! Cindy Margolis
Tully NWA TV Champion....The Sling Shot Suplex...Still the best finisher in wrestling!!! #4Horseman4Life
What do/did you think about P. Heyman, & the ECW promotion/biz entity?
Any throw backs to Japan &/or other countries?
How "actual" was the Horsemen/D.Rhodes' feud?
The story with Manny Hernandez has been told by Manny on like every interview he has ever done he has said Tully started a fight with some bikers while Manny was in the restroom and came out to find them beating on Tully so he jumped in to help and got stabbed meanwhile Tully ran off screaming for help and then refused to give Manny a ride to the hospital because it was a new car and Manny was bleeding pretty bad but thats Mannys side of it Tully has never commented
Sad how you got done but at least u turned ur life around 😊
What are some new things, you & others didn't have... that new era takes for granted?
I mostly only remember him in the team with Arn. I don't think they ever fit or worked right in WWF. Lex Luger was probably my favorite Horseman. Barry is too tall and lanky. I never really thought he worked out or the group was that great. Flair I could not stand in the least heh. Not that I changed my view of him Woo. Its interesting to hear about him as singles guy. Dusty Rhodes failed as a booker. I can relate to having people complain when doing things well. Just doing zones for MUDs the other admins would say I was making them look bad by working or doing it according to the standards in the Editor Doc. Never thought of WWF as trying to top the matches or do better. I don't think he talked about the Road Warriors or Tessa Blanchard. Magnum TA I don't think was the Main Event Talent to carry NWA. I wonder why AEW ditched him etc ;)?
Barry Windham is one of the greatest workers of all time. Do you even know wrestling?
I agree with the lex opinion. Right on. Love hearing from lex fans. He’s my favorite all time wrestler. Vastly underestimated
@@chrisvietro4360 Cool I used to be friends with Lex Luger on Myspace. He actually talked to me or replied a few times so it was a big deal for me. I feel so bad for him being in that situation.I was really into that kinda cut body like Rick Rude and him. I was always into that Torture Rack. I even have the Lex Luger figure with that literal item from ToyBiz. I have it up on here with my WCW Jeircholics shirt if ever bored :). They claim they invented the clotheslines for him but dunno how true that is ;). I like how he got his name.
@@milla7391 Yeah that is why I don't like Barry really. His body didn't do it for me at all. The overly tall lanky guy or so. I was not a fan of Arn or Tully really. I was into Real Workers like Ricky The Dragon Steamboat the Greatest NWA Champion until Sabu. Your free to like refuge or Dustry Rhodes or Trash if you want. That just shows you don't know wrestling is all :). Steven Lombardi the Brooklyn Brawler is the Greatest Worker :). You probably think Bray Wyatt was Good too :).
What about the Snuggery?
Let's get to these questions that im not going to answer
...gasp & swoon
Who would win in that thumbnail. James vs. Tully.
James
Top heel in the mid 80's wish he would have been a bit more open in his answers!
task master
Much ❤ and Respect to T.B. One of, if not The Greatest Heel of all time!!
...throwing salt ...is a relevant cultural action
Tully getting ready for his presidential nomination. He didn't answer a single question.
Jake the Snake
i dont know why AEW cut hes time on screen and then let him go - especially as their own guys have as much talent as a banana skin!
everyone rattles on about FTR but without Tully they just look like a spice girls cover band looking at the past without any content
hes promo with Shawn Spears is BY FAR the best promo AEW ever had! and once again without Tully - where is he now... NO WHERE
TONY and the rest of the wrestling world in AEW need to understand that you can flip flop and fly as much as you want in the ring but without a mouth and getting the crown going your just another grain in the sand!
James quit bitching about your glasses. If you need them
Put them on.
ARE "FULL SHOOT INTERVIEWS" SUPPOSED TO BE "ROAST-ESQUE"? ...VETTING?
The only interesting part of this was Tully's story about turning his life over to Jesus. I get the sense Tully doesn't like talking about his career.
He's afraid somebody may ask about Gino
I guess James is getting famous since hes putting face shots of himself along with the wrestler hes interviewing... sigh, And another channel's hubris ruins a good show I wanted to support... sigh
Not my favorite wrestler. Arn Anderson has charisma. Tully ain’t got any. Plus the lil fella gets lost in a crowd. lol. Love your interviews.
Wrestling today sux
He’s acting like he didn’t party is a joke
...2 dimensional "philly shell"
Terrible interview sorry James you did your best
He paused before answering so long and frequently. I thought my phone was broken.
...Olle ...nepotism
I love Tully.. but his dishonesty and selective memory is a let down.
Great wrestler
Worst interview
Overrated
Way too diplomatic. Half his answers were non-answers.
Don't forget, he probably sees a lot of these guys on the autograph circuit. No need to cause hard feelings over stuff that happened 40 years ago.
I agree Sean!
Or maybe he’s not a bitter old man
But he’s being honest. And has admitted his memory isn’t the greatest from years of drugs and working in the ring. Good Christian who stays to himself. If you want dirt there are a million shoot interviews online. lol
