Nice video ! One thing , the Xiaomi battery sensor doesn't require the hub to work with home assistant, I've got two. You need to extract the ble code from the device which there's an extractor tool for. Very easy to do and no Hub -)
We agree!! Everything Presence One for bedrooms, Everything Presence Lite for multi-zone applications. Apollo MSR for discrese location - bathrooms. Have you seen the new molded cases on the Everything Presence sensors and the new setup application? Takes the game up a notch.
Great review Aaron! Glad to see that the Apollo MTR-1 & MSR-2 were top picks as I'm using both. I'm using an MSR-2 in my bathroom and it even senses through the glass shower. This is really great as it won't turn off the lights while taking a shower. Using the MTR-1 in my garage with the zone detection to control the lighting based on location. I've got LED overhead lights for the entire garage area and I've also got an LED task light over my workbench.
Great review, Aaron! The Apollo and EP sensors are easily my favorites. It continues to be frustrating that adding a device via Matter often (always?) results in reduced functionality or customization.
I have a couple of the Xiaomi sensors that I got back in October based on a write up on Smart Home Scene. I'm very pleased with them, the seem reliable and the batteries are still at 100%. I had been looking for a sensor that I could use in the bathroom and see the whole room without having wires running up the walls and these seem perfect.
Ah cool. Yeah Smart Home Scene has some really in depth reviews - my research often involves scanning his reports! Good to hear the batteries are still 100!
Congratulations, another well done video. Do you consider these Mmwave devices could - in addition to controlling my lights - be useable as well for my DIY alarm system (using the alarmo add-on on home assistant) or would they occasionally generate false positives?
@@MakeItWorkTech I'm interested though for your preference with a presene sensor and a motion sensor combined. What would you advise? I have one big room 11,4 by 4 meters (living/dining/kids room combo). I'm thinking to put a presense one on each side, but i'll need also at least 2 motion ones. What would you recommend?
A lot of people do not realize that some the new 5G equipment emit Millimeter waves. I believe that the MMW power of these is a less than those of other equipment. It would be a good subject to research.
Great video! I just got Everything Presence Lite. Have you automated anything with it? I added a light to turn on after I leave my chair but it has this long delay and I have no idea why. Anyone seen this issue?
@@MrSupersidewinder Can you elaborate on why not? I have a pretty precise EMF/RF meter, and it doesn’t show elevated levels (at least for Apollo) if that’s your concern.
@MichaelBurko Nothing good can come from exposure to these mm waves, do the deep dive research... I'd bet that if you could hear them you would understand...🤠 Automation is not worth health risks imho.

Thanks for the info! That's good to know, and I'll have to try that!
Apollo sensors are great! They are very affordable and reliable - I have six and have never had any issues with them.
Agreed - really solid devices!

Yeah, I think a molded case is on the way! I looked through the docs for the setup, but never tried it yet

I need to do that in my garage - that's a good application. I was using an Aqara motion sensor for a while, but not anymore since the battery died

Thanks! Yeah, I had a long rant about Matter in here, but decided to cut it out haha
@@MakeItWorkTech nah, leave that in next time!
I just watched the original the other day! Great timing.
Perfect haha

Glad you enjoyed it!

I was looking for this 🎉, thx!
Glad I could help!

Interesting, I didn't know that!
Would you be able to make a video about setting up the NextCloud addon in Home Assistant?
What is that?
Great video! I just got Everything Presence Lite. Have you automated anything with it? I added a light to turn on after I leave my chair but it has this long delay and I have no idea why. Anyone seen this issue?
Thanks for the video! Im curious your opinion on sonoff snzb-06p mmwave sensor? They are simple and cheap.
which graph you used for comparison? it seems to be grafana?
Grafana, yes! Add on for Home Assistant
Great video, xiaomi affiliate link is broken
Thanks, I'll check it
Where are the test results for the xiaomi compatible device?
Like I mentioned in the video, that one doesn't measure target distance, only true/false presence detection
Why would anybody bring mm waves into their home🥵

I stood in front of 18 active sensors for quite a while for my last video 😬
