God I love this mix. Having the bass out front and center doesn’t take anything away from any other part-it just makes them all that much better. It just makes the whole song better. Too bad this version is stuck in some backwater of UA-cam. Great.

Thanks for posting this! After listening to youtubes of the isolated bass to this song over and over, I've been wishing I could hear an emphasized bass version, just as you've made here. Awesome. Some think the Brian Jones years were the best. Some think the Taylor years were the best. And some prefer the Ronnie years. I love 'em all, but mostly I love the Bill Wyman years. Even when it's Keith playing bass on the studio version, I hear Bill's influence. The Rolling Stones sound is Bill Wyman on bass as much as it's Charlie on drums or Keith on guitar. Wish they'd turned up the bass just a little more on all of their recordings.

As a lifelong Stones fan, it has always frustrated me that Bill was buried in the mix to the point where I couldn’t hear him. Thank you for doing this. Is there any chance you can do more Stones songs like this…?

Yup, and any song that Keith played bass on, well, he made damn sure it was mixed right up front and loud. Very noticeable on "Exile" especially.

I've read and heard about how Bill liked to play ahead of the beat, but never really heard it myself until just now. But with a little extra volume on the bass track, I hear it. Maybe it's the fact that he's using a pick on this song, too. Whatever. Just a little separation between Bill and. Charlie, except when they team up on those big single beats. Everybody else reverberating in between them. The wobble. Yeah. Subtle. Genius.

The song is sooooo different with the bass turned up.
I love the bass line, as a bassist, but for this tune it almost seems like it’s too much.
