@@NTMonsty most birds have this trait of maintaining their head on a static position over their body. i heard its because their eyes dont have any movement so the added mobility and stability to their head and neck is to compensate for that when trying to focus on an object.
I grew up in the fields and woods of central Iowa. I won't mention my age all these years later. I NEVER got to see a woodcock. Great to see them now though. Just love them!
That back bolt on the bracket does not need to go back in. And if you do notch the bracket out, put bolt in first most of way then slip bracket on and just a few turns will tighten it.
