@@joeyjojo5986 Clooney is still a big name, so I don't feel it's an age thing. The most I see from reactors is that they recognize Clooney, but didn't catch/know the reference to ER, his hit at the time.
I think the one with the poker game is where the series really started to come together. The first half of the season still had so many random things that they were trying out and abandoned. This episode feels like the first fully realized 'Friends' episode, as the show would get defined.
In the 1990s there was a TV medical drama called ER. George Clooney and Noah Wyle were two of the stars of that popular show, and it was filmed on the sound stage next to Friends. Hence the crossover and huge reaction from the studio audience.
You can kind of tell from his hair in Ep 17, Ross's/Monica's Dad's actor Elliott Gould was in a movie called The Long Goodbye (1973) whose look inspired the character Spike Spiegel from the anime Cowboy Bebop.

I know a lot of people in the fandom don’t like Ross and hate him , but i always saw the good and sweet part of him and thats why he’s my second favorite on the show they all have their own flaws and make mistakes but somehow Ross is the only one who gets more hate
I think that most people hate Ross for some particular episodes in season 3... I think it's too much hate for a couple of episodes in a 10 season series
I think Ross never had a competitive hand from the start. That's why he initially tried to fold. Once he saw Rachel's insistence, he saw the opportunity to bless her with a big cash win and personal victory. He raised the bet as much as he could afford, all the while knowing she'd win and he'd "save face". He was bluffing, counting on her persistence to bless her.
Ive realised that usually when you yourself have seen some series or movie like 20 + times you forget what your own first impression was. and it gets easy to judge others first reaction. did it with your view on ross first and got annoyed but then i realised that i dont even remember my own first impression of ross... started to like your reactions now
12:42 after watching this scene i realised Phoebe did this to give herself an ego boost by using valuable friendship with Joey, and it wasn't about protecting Joey from Ursula.
Hey, I didn't know who the doctors were either. I've never seen George Clooney and knew what he looked like. Basically, I don't know who he is beyond his name.
I think it's an age thing.. if you're over 30 you would have to be living under a rock half your life not to know Clooney... if you're younger it's understandable but late 90's to early 2000's Clooney was THAT guy..
Never thought I’d see the day someone doesn’t recognise George Clooney. 😮
Me neither.
Yeah now I feel old as crap.

She is from Australia. They are few, they are proud and they don't care about George Clooney.
Or Noah... But maybe ER wasn't as big in Australia? But Clooney!😮😂
If you're not sure who is guest starring in an episode, they always show it at the end credits of each episode (like in Ep. 17 @14:26)

Great film. It's like a prototype of the TV series "The Rockford Files". "Goodbye" writer Leigh Brackett actually wrote an episode.

People who "hate" these characters, that were written for entertainment purposes, are usually close minded people.
