With the Drake Passage being some of the most deadliest waters in the world are we ever going to make it to the SEVENTH CONTINENT?

I used to work on Cruise Ships all over the world. There are 2 cruises I recommend; Singapore; Bali’s ; Tia land; another is Australia; New Zealand; Fiji. The blue whales swim all around the ship. Oh and 3. the North Sea; Norway Fjords; Finland; Denmark. Gotland; Estonia etc.

Thanks, will check out your Scandinavian suggestions Likewise, I worked on a cruiseship, the smaller shops the better. I would add Alaska and the inside passage as well as the panema canal , Antarctica is on my list too.
The Drake Passage doesn't mess round! Things can get really nautical out there. That's wild that so many ships got damaged. Looking forward to the rest of the journey to Antarctica.
My nephew had a 2 week visit to Antarctica and was on another ship when this happened. He took a great video of penguins walking behind him and had had such a good time but felt so sad for the person who died and their family.

I did that trip several years ago and know how excited you are. Going down the Drake Passage was almost glass like but we paid for that coming back. I was seasick both days.

Nice cabin stateroom! I am a self proclaimed ship fanatic and I have sailed from Singapore to New York City to Rio de Janeiro. I have only experienced a couple of storms with no broken windows. I hope the remaining voyage is more fun.

So excited for you two. You should be used to delays and repairs with your van. We were stuck outside of port due to fog. Luckily it was at end of cruise. No one complained. Safe travels!!!

What day did this happen as we had sailed through Antarctica on the Oosterdam Dec.28-31 and heard about it after we safely crossed the Drake Passage?
We sailed in the beginning of December!
What ship did you sail on? How did you like the food, the amenities?
We were on the World Explorer first time. A little fancier decor than our second time on Ultramarine. But ultramarine has helicopter rides included and a better view from the gym and sauna. World explorer has a great track up top for 350 walking views though and hot tubs. Both had excellent excellent food. Quark expeditions is amazing!

I have questions. Was the woman who died, & the 4 injured, on your ship? Or another ship? When were you made aware that someone died? Do you understand how dangerous these voyages are? How could you not say anything on your vlog about the poor woman, I mean say a few words of respect for her, or something. I don’t get it.

On another ship. I thought we had said something. Oh, Emily says we found out during the next video. It is quite sad and insane these boats don’t just wait for the weather to pass! Apparently 5 boats were damaged. We definitely feel for the injured and the woman lost. So sad. I’m sure we say something about how sad it was in the next video. Sorry
