Malcolm in the Middle BBC2 continuity (2001)

- Roughly a year after it debuted in America, Malcolm in the Middle was ported over to UK terrestrial TV, taking pride of place in the schedules at 18:45 on Fridays, right after The Simpsons. A fearsome double billing. Assorted continuity surrounding the show in its first year of BBC broadcasting is presented here, recorded between March and August.
First broadcast on BBC2 on 6th April, this compilation features the early promo trailers that were broadcast during March, the first of which was recorded on 23rd March and is one of the earliest airings, quite possibly the very first (it was a full two weeks before the debut).
Other bits and pieces of then-contemporary programmes are trailed, including the all but forgotten Ian Wright game show.
I distinctly remember the announcer telling us that ''Malcolm'' would be back the following year and it feeling like a lifetime away.

Sounds like an amazing night
1. The Simpson's
2. Malcolm in the Middle
3. The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air
I remembered this preview very well it hooked me into watching the show for how absurd it looked 😆 I loved it!
Man I miss early 2000s BBC: Simpsons, Malcolm in Middle, Fresh Prince of Bel Air, Robot Wars and Top of the Pops, back when whoever was in charge knew quality TV for a Friday evening.
"It's the mother of all episodes" proceeds to air episode 2 ("Red Dress")
I remember watching it that night. Time flies!
I was at a lame school disco that night and really wanted to see it - my sis told me all about it so my first episode was Red Dress and I loved it, had to wait weeks to catch the first one.
I wonder if anyone’s archived that Malcolm live chat. That would be a fascinating read.
