Why is it 5? I think in Florida its 3. You get 3 dui related suspensions you automatically lose your license and are charged with a felony and mandatory incarceration. They say thats harsh, but whats harsher is the innocent people that get killed by intoxicated drivers.
It's hard to believe that someone driving on a suspended license blew a red traffic light, killed someone as a result of their negligence and were not convicted of manslaughter and reckless driving at the time. Was this a jury trial?
Do you not understand that you'd have to accumulate 11 points in 18 months in order to have your license suspended? That's the equivalent of either disobeying 4 signals, stop signs, and yield signs, getting caught speeding 11-20mph over 3x and 21-30mph 2x. If someone breaks that many laws then they don't deserve to be on the road in the first place. Driving is a right, not a privilege.
Driving is a privilege, not a right. If you don't want to abide by traffic laws, get a ticket for it, and can't afford to pay them off, then take public transit.
@@user-uq4ly6fp6m……yeah. Remember that whole bill of rights. That prevents harsh punishments. Driving is a privilege. A felony for an unpaid ticket does not change that. Suspension of license already removes the privilege. Self aggrandizing asshats everywhere
@@dancingnature…yeah. You should go down to view the court cases that handle moving violations and suspensions. In reality, this just a law that will be used to harm someone when it’s convenient.
@@jvees7916 Facts… and I think it’s a dumb law and we need to stop throwing around felonys for everything… a felony is supposed to be for very serious crimes. What happened to this lady Daughter was just an accident. A licensed driver could’ve run a red light. If that’s even what really happened.

You are a hero. Your daughter is so proud of you ❤
How can her daughter be proud of her? When the dead knows nothing.
@wendyisaacs2555 that is your opinion. Enjoy your day
5? Make it 3
“only 5 prior license suspensions” ? 🤦🏽♂️

Congrats..sorry for what you've had to endure
FIVE????? It should be ONE but move in the right direction
GOOD FOR HER!!!
Congratulations!
So if you pass a stop sign, is that a moving violation?
We need felony punishment for failure to adhere to a traffic device?

Idiot drivers still on the road it a good step
And at the same time, random wandering through busy city streets is legalized while everyone knows that any direct impact over 20mph is lethal.
unresolved grief , get your life back
Really!!!!! 5 times!!!
What a disgrace........ what a country..
5 seems still too high a threshold
No license doesnt stop most from driving.
5 sounds high, but shes right, small victory, more to do.
Please arrest and send to jail people driving without licenses. You see these illegal migrants driving without a license
When the risk of too much leniency on DUI cases is the taking of an innocent person’s life, tighter restrictions are needed.
This is ridiculous!!! They SUSPEND YOUR LICENSE FOR UNPAID TICKETS... AND NOW CHARGE YOU WITH A FELONY... YOU MIGHT JUST BE POOR!!!

It took so long because you all keep voting Democrat
To-to-to-today junior.
You could suspend my license until the cows come home I’m still gunna be driving
Ok so get hit with a felony 🤷🏾♀️
@ do what you gotta do but it won’t stop me
