Yes! SS is not cheap by any means. It's not a direct comparison, but a 240V 15g Spike Solo is $1700, before the pump and chiller. I had a little sticker shock too, but I think it is coming in around the Grainfather g40 price by the time a chiller is included.. but you did that detailed all in one video, I'd be really interested in where you think this slots when more info is released.
Looks like a nice system. I do wish some of these all in one systems could switch between 110 and 220 like the Anvil. That was the big reason I purchased the Anvil Foundry
I signed up for alerts from SS Brewtech as soon as this was announced. I pre-ordered one the day they went on sale and am hoping they ship them out soon. I currently use an Anvil Foundry 10.5 which I loved it at first but the quirks and inherent flaws began showing up fairly quickly and at this point I just can't wait to get rid of it. I have other SS Brewtech equipment so I am confident that this will be a top notch unit.
@@FermentationAdventures Got an email last night that is has shipped. Provided I have the right adapter to plug it into my dryer outlet I will make an equipment profile for Beersmith first thing then do a first brew video on my channel.
The center pipe recirculation was an interesting choice. I have a brewtools and it’s not my favorite feature. If they were gonna go that route I would have much rather seen a bottom up recirculation like the braumeister, that seems much smarter. The knockout port brings up a sanitation issue, there is no mechanism to clean that outflow with boiling wort, I found that annoying on brewtools and have since changed my set up to avoid that issue. But I like the sanitary valves, smart simple design!
The sanitation of the knockout port is interesting… I’d hope they’d cover the process in their instructions. I wasn’t concerned since I thought they would lead with a counter flow chiller so it’ll be a less of a concern. But they’ve lead with an immersion chiller.
Yeah, that was assumption on my part, since no chiller was announced initially. They called the transfer port a knockout port, so I was assuming inline cfc/plate chiller.
Looks awesome! Only problem is that it doesn’t support 120V, only 240V. Spike has this same concept and offers BOTH 120V for 10 gallon capacity PLUS 240V for 10 gallon and higher volume 😊
@@FermentationAdventures should’ve added both options like Spike did. It’s obviously gonna be a hit so why not make it a better hit? They’re the last to market so they can easily learn from everyone’s else’s mistakes
I think the the price will determine if this will sell in Europe. SS brewtech is very expensive and hardly any parts available. I mean their Brite Tank 10 gallon cost 900 usd here. I see many brewers selling their ss brewtech fermenters and kettles and replace them for Brewtools. Even Speidel lost territory. But its good to see something new on the market. But I think that Grainfather G40 still wins over this Svbs.
Interesting, been waiting to see what they would do. Thanks for bringing it to peoples attention!
You’re welcome, thanks for checking out the video! I can’t wait to see some hands on reviews of this. I think it’ll be a winner product for SS.
@@FermentationAdventures Yea the price point scared me a little but but its nice that its 240v. Makes it more competitive.

Agreed! Has some really innovative features. I just wish there was more information available on it!
Neat system

Yes, that is a very differentiating feature of the Foundry.

Nice! I look forward to some actual hands on content with this system. People should start getting it soon I hope!

The "shop now" link shows the chiller option is immersion, not counter-flow.

Ya, they need something on the market first, i think 240v makes sense as the first option. I wonder if they’ll sell a 120v down the road.

Yeah, no idea what the European market would be interested in. Ss just opened presale today. $1300 + $100 for an immersion chiller.
Price is around $1200 USD
