    After having studied spanish, where every word is pronounced as its written, French is like learning to spell in English, where most words arent spelled as they are pronounced.

    It is so good to have a French person teaching French!
    Only a native speaker can really give the correct pronunciation and the proper inflection.
    Merci beaucoup! 😄

      There are a few tips for how to learn French
      Decide precisely why you wish to learn it
      Try to speak French everyday
      Decide which process works for you best.
      (I learned about these and more on Magic Language Method website )

    It should be noted that an optional liaison exists for the conjugations of the verb « être » which means the « est à côté de » part of her first example can have the « t » pronounced at the end of « est » since it's followed by « à » which is a vowel sound.

    Alexa , your videos have helped me IMMENSELY in french. I was just consuming content and learning all kinds of things in french only to find out I couldn't pronounce basic words and sounds. Your videos gave me the basic knowledge I needed. The extra time you dedicate to really explain the sounds, concepts, and reasonings behind them is a massive help. Merci beaucoup!

    I teach french in Dubai and today i used this video, because my students are from Korea, i slowed it down. It was so funny because you sounded like you've had some good french wine...no offense, i just wanted them to get a slower pronunciation, It worked and they had fun listening and learning...just wanted to share, you should try to watch it at a slow pace...good job!!!!

    You're great. I grew up in Europe. My first language is English. The next language I needed to learn was German, as we lived in that country for 6 years. I spoke like a native, and rolled my "R" like a good German. The third language I learned (at 11 yrs) was French. I could not kick the habit of rolling my Rs like a German, and I came up with a compromise that never felt right. Thank you for teaching me how to pronounce the French "R" correctly by holding a pencil between my teeth! Although I started to speak French about 50 years ago, it's obviously never too late to learn something new. Many thanks.

    2:04 aren't these t's liaisons and should thus be pronounced? Or am I missing something?

    • @frankiemillcarek6976
      @frankiemillcarek6976 5 років тому

      A rule given by duolingo:
      "Forbidden liasons:
      • After a singular noun: 'un garçon intéressant' (you should not say 'un garçon-N-intéressant')."

    • @frankiemillcarek6976
      @frankiemillcarek6976 5 років тому +1

      This sentence may be following that rule (le grand loup being a singular noun) or it may have something to do with the ê in forêt causing the t to not become a liaison. I'd guess the latter but I haven't found a rule given.

You appear to put some extra hutzpah in your lessons. (I wish I had a French typewriter. I hate copying and pasting when there are accent marks!) I hope to experience more of your energetic lessons here. Thank you for being that breath of fre......... no......... strong wind! :D
