At first I thought this was just a normal update to optimize their system. But then I realized that my account with 700 sales and 5k likes is classified as standard.
I contacted to many Redbubble artists. And the truth is that all high-selling successful artists are classified as standard. Even accounts with 2 designs are premium.
You did not hear wrong. Redbubble steals money by making standard accounts of all its high-paying artists.
They are stupid enough to think that this disgrace goes unnoticed.
Today is the day that Redbubble was declared a fraudulent company.
I invite everyone to announce this on all their social media accounts. They must pay for this disgrace.

They've also just hiked the fees again-they're more like 60%, effective 1st Feb 2024. Also, their currency conversions are way off. A sales margin I made in £s for £8.15 was converted to $8.27, which is certainly not the 1.22 conversion rate they quoted.
Thanks for the other POD recommendations; I'll be sure to check them out.

I’ll stay on RB, but will make less effort adding designs to all the products. Maybe they adjust after a little while, maybe not. Their tier system is so hazy. I for sure want account thieves and tag spammers gone, but this is too massive a cost to justify that. For all those bailing, I see that as less competition. Thanks for your thoughts on this!

I'm a newbie just getting ito the whole POD world. Yeah, late. I thought I'd start with RB because it's easy to set up. But with this video, I'm thinking I may just skip RB altogether. I can't imagine I'd be making any profit at all for quite a while. But my question is, this new fee structure - is it calculated off your net profit or your revenue? And don't you already pay them to produce and fulfill your order? I don't know what the exact cost is, but for example let's say you sell a t-shirt for $25. They charge you $18 to fulfill that. So you left with $7. Them, according to this video, you would be additionally charged off that $7 profit? I guess $3.10. So they are basically double dipping on you?

Many EU Countries and local POD firms have started with a similar system.
Maybe it's better to stick with local firms bypassing a big platform like RB and creating your design there.
For example the local POD in my region have a POD system where the price for tshirt is acc $10 , $3 shipping , without any fee, registration is free, your store is free (extra domain name cost, they have includede brand ,your brand name on package cost..or leave without)..no other costs. T-shirts sell for $25 and up. Think about!

@@hannahebeling Do they have higher fees for being premium because I'm reading the page it says if you make $25 they take out $17.45 under premium. I found out something interesting. So another company I sell through pays a profit of 10% on any sale. I ordered from both companies my pod products were sent from the same area. I believe they might use the same facility but for different pod stuff. It looks like redbubble trying to do same % is just a little over 10% in sales. Perhaps the company they all use to sell through raised prices. Other company does really well. They talk about how 10% is industry standards and is higher over others selling on a product.

You don't have to fight for competition and you can drive social media traffic directly there for a better profit than redbubble, and still a minimal amount of work. I have had friends and family buy off of my Printify Pop Up shop and I really like it. Plus Printify's customer service is good. PLUS Redbubble's algorithm for getting found has always sucked anyways which is why a lot of redbubble sellers have to use social media. Really dumb imo! Just spend that time on an etsy shop so you can get products found without marketing.

It’s all BS. It’s a way for RB to make even more money while having to pay artists less. They already have a $20 lowest earnings per month to even get paid at all, and that bar is gonna be even harder to reach now.
There is a reason why they’re so unclear about exactly what you have to do to move up - because they don’t want you to know. You could go for years doing exactly what they advise you to do, and never make it passed Standard. As soon as I heard about the new changes, I contacted RB to get more clear guidelines, They averted my questions every step of the way, always referring back to that same link. When I told them I would like a more thorough explanation, they ether replied with the link, or flat out ignored me.
They must be under new management, because this is starting to look more and more like a scam company.
Instead of closing my shop, I've created a design that says "DO NOT SUPPORT REDBUBBLE. THE NEW TIER SYSTEM EXPLOITS ARTISTS", and have exchanged all designs in my show with it. If RedBubble wants me shut down, they can do so. I'm not gonna do the work for them.
