I'm in Upshur County everything is dead or dying. Had a nice Spring with mild temps and lots of rain and so thought we would be ok this Summer. Last year it stopped raining in early May. We got rain through June this year. I lost a huge Oak in last Summer's drought, but decided to leave it standing for the birds. I hope I don't loose anymore trees this year. We are under a burn ban and also in a red flag warning. It has been in the 110's here.

I'm in Austin things look pretty good now but been better. Drip, mulch, and shade cloth are a saving everything. I also have a 610 gallong rain catchment system if you have any questions on setup.

@eljardinperdido I have the drip system laid out to either run of the city or the rain barrells. The barrels have a pump, so it's no different pressure wise from the house.
Seems like we are always fighting some kind of weather here in Texas, To much rain, Not enough rain , Hurricanes, Frost, Heat, etc...
Yes. It’s been a challenge to say the least. You’d think El Niño would mean mild winter based on this summer, but we’re projected to get a lot of snow. 😢
Heat dome is where you get higher than average temps I presume? And drought is where the average rainfall for your area is way below what it should be....well, I'm in central Mexico, in the Bajío region, there's been a drought since last year where out of an average 90 days rainfall, we only got 8 days' worth, no wonder my Grapefruit tree got so stressed, survived a whitefly infestation, but this spring it didn't bloom and this year's rainy season (mid-May to mid-September it has been better than 2022's, after a 10 day pause in rainfall, it finally rained yesterday and happy its raining today.
The heat dome refers to when you look on a map, the shape the jetstream is creating looks like a dome, but the jetstream is also tye cause of this heat because its holding all this hot air in these areas of the US.
Wow! Sounds intense! Mexico seems like a challenging region to grow. I’m glad you got some relief.
That’s about how my yard and fruit trees look. I’m so tired and want to give up on watering.
I feel you. More mulch next year! I hasn’t been able to tend to my garden much this year, but good to know the forest system is working some-what.
