Recently found your series via the Spiderman video. I've been meaning to play Ape Escape on my deck (started it on PS1 back in the day but never finished it) Subscribed and liking your videos, you should do Resident Evils, Bioshock, GTAs, Mafia, Final Finantasy & Metal Gear Solid
played through ape escape 1 and 2001 recently for the first time, only found out about the japan spin offs thanks to your vid! great games!
have since played 2, 3, and big mission. banger series, glad i got to check these out, think 2001 was my fav lol
This series needs to comeback! I missed it when Sony used to make fun games! Most of the games they made are PS5 ports for games people already have for PS4 and still charged extra to get ray tracing and 60 FPS and boring generic games with hyper-realistic graphics that's gonna age worse than with cartoony or unique style like Ratchet & Clank, Sly Cooper, Jak & Daxter, Ape Escape (Topic of this video), Parappa the Rapper, Vib Ribbon, Locoroco, Medevil and many more! The first Parappa from PS1 and some Ratchets, Jaks and Slys aged like fine wine in 2024.

I actually liked ape academy 2 a lot but I was a kid. It was my first instance of importing a game when I found and bought it in germany! I knew of all the other games and wanted to play million monkeys so bad (you can play as specter and dual wield!!) but i just would need to learn the language to enjoy it

32:33 THANK YOU, I have been saying this forever that if Sony hadn't wasted their time on shitty party game spinoffs, actually made a proper 4th game and released the good games in the west this series would probably still be around. Million Monkeys pisses me off especially because it was actually supposed to come out in the UK and they cancelled it cos they didn't want to release it at the same time as 3. And to be honest I don't even think the racing game is good, it's stupid, it doesn't control well, none of the main characters besides the monkeys are in it, the skiing minigame in the 1st game is better. It shouldn't been have so hard to make a good racing spinoff of this series, or an RPG spinoff for that matter

Did you not get any issues in the speedway level, tv station, or in vehicles in ape escape 3?
Still no way to play the PAL version? I grew up on the UK voice actors and would prefer it over the over version, if possible.

But please, do sonic it’d be hilarious so many games have pc versions to compare to emulation

I like to imagine that the real reason why ape escape move can't be played on the steam deck is because the game is so awful, the steam deck REFUSES to run it....
God ape escape move sucks...

I haven't played racing but I might try it after this video, it looks fun enough.
