How do you guys like shorter videos with longer updates on a specific tank? Do you prefer videos like this OR my “Around the Island” updates like this: ua-cam.com/video/PoIKzYtdQFs/v-deo.html
have a 75 gallon discus...and 125 severum tank...my go to food right now..after trying alot cause of picky eating is vibra-bites....freeze dried omega shrimp cubes...and my go to is tetra..3 in 1 community fish food...
I keep mine at around 7.6-7.8 and they do great (knock on wood)🪵it’s just the matter of consistency. I make sure to use the same sink and hose every water change to ensure consistent water parameters.
Good idea on not feeding bloodworms. I made the mistake of feeding mine bloodworms, then having to try a ton of different foods to try and wean them off their addiction lol. I eventually settled on ocean prime flakes, which they really like, but not as much as the bloodworm.
Maybe test a few things. Stop the bloodworms and only feed the Vibra Bites. Skip a day or two and then try the Vibra Bites. Different combinations and mixing no bloodworms into the mix might do it!
@@LongIslandFishGuy I’ve actually tried that, they are still smart enough to know to difference lol. They seem to like red flake food and I have yet to try discus granules, so we’ll see what happens

Pretty fish. Merry Christmas and God bless you and your whole family...🙏❤🙏❤🙏😊🙂😀🌲🕊🎅🕊🌲
You too, thank you!
How do you make your tap water soft enough for discus? I'm also on long island and never tried discus because I think my tap water is too hard
Depends what part of the island you’re from. My water is very neutral. I will occasionally put salt in that softness the water.

Try out Vibra Bites if you haven’t already. They have the look of bloodworms but have the benefits of pellets! My Discus eat them up!
@@LongIslandFishGuy I have, they chase after them, but then they realize what they actually are and spit them out
