One of the most gracefully ageing artists around. Compare his constant attempt to move things forward to the retrospective nostalgia of some of the 70s rock bands who are still boring people to death
Saw Jeff mills in the Orbit Morley in the 90s...wish I could go back there again...The best times ever.
He lives and breathes this stuff. Have to respect a producer so engrossed in his craft. Mixing skills are untouchable. I've seen him mix 4 crates of 12" in a 2 hour set. He doesn't need a reason to do what he does. Nice work Jeff!
For push people to belive in space. ... ...
Jeff mills, the best knees in the industry
jeff mills, one of the greatest philosophers of our time.this man inspires me,so much can be learned from his music and his mind.
Mills & Hood
Professor Mills always fascinating, deep stuff!
In few words, Mr. Mills has stated the philosophy of creativity. The scientific method of musicality.
I intrinsically enjoy the way Jeff Mills describes the craft of his music, it’s purpose and message. Great Stuff
The great man is other worldly
Jeff Mills is a God... I can't describe him and his music in any other way.
Ikr Jeff mills blew me away when I first listen to him on UA-cam he really stood out to me when it comes to his style and overall talent.
Amen
He really is an alien totally agree.
Thanks Jeff Mills for getting me into DJing, The Wizard from the D, still doing what he do best!!!
Agree! The no cell-phone rule at Berghain rocks..
Jeff Mills, Derrick May, Kevin Susnderson and the creator of Detroit techno Juan Atkins!!! They were my inspiration.
sweetest voice and smile
The beautiful thing about electronic music is that there are no idols ! No big band mentalities nor heros. There have been, and there will be many great music men and women! Idolising individualls is against the music and the creator of the musicmakers!
absolutley right except the fact that nowadays there are many idols within (commercialised) electronic music.
@@leninonacid2358 true my friend! Though who with any taste would listen to it? I have many records and other format tunes and to be honest I rarely remember the artist, just the track title or sleeve artwork! Peace
Indeed
Well said
That never aged well
Brilliant visionary
Jeff Mills looks like an alien, fitting for the genre he pioneered.
Don't ever stop , Jeff !
The Wizard 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Great interview
Thank U 👊💥💥💥💥💥💥💥
such a deep dude
A true visionary. He comes from the real World of electronic music. The current scene is a fat bloated blob..
lairdriver there is an underground scene that is so vast, vivid and wonderfully blossoming all over the world for almost 40 years now, techno has never been so alive, even though it might be hidden by the big scopes of sadly famous entertainers that attracts all the lights (most of it)
Massive respect to Jeff, sticking to his guns for all these years. Personally, I lost interest for a while (call me shallow). I come back and he's making his best music ever.
This is a real legend.
Indeed
Most definitely Jeff Mills is the best edm artist ever in edm history.
he can take you to faraway places that im sure no alien can, that tribal mechanised rhythems locked in from distant ansesters. love it
Yeh his beats are beautiful
This video has 909 likes, please leave it at that.
Mills literally is that brother who made it a point to show that blacks can be just as futuristic or cutting edge like their past influences such as Kraftwerk, Tangerine Dream, Yello Magic, Moroder etc... he blows the whole negative perception of us not being interested or capable of doing pure electronic music out of the window. But sadly his name and music isn’t as visible to the masses like most EDM producers are these days. Which hey! maybe that’s good thing :)
Sad but true jeff mills is still extremely underappreciated and underrated artist that no one really knows about. He is my top 5 artist ever in music history of all genres of music he is a wizard and a innovative and unique in a fascinating way it draws you in without even you realizing it.
Abraham Palmer Yes he is I hope him and the other Detroit pioneers like Juan etc.. are remembered years from now for having a hand in helping to shape the electronic music scene.
deeply inspiring
love jeff mills-what a nice guy : )
Put down your phones and experience the moment.
And uh. Have some Ffing respect.
MAM sorry mam
Exactly. How can you give a fuck about audiences like this?
No doubt that is one of the most legitimate representatives of what is today music
Love how he references Kraftwerk's Tour de France
at 7:39 he hears the drum
Nick Gennety haha
+Nick Gennety XD
Great great great, thanx thanx thanx!!!

The most important man.
DOES ANY ONE REMBER WHAT MIXER THAT IS THAT HE IS ROCKING ON...? I REMEMBER SEEING THEM...
Jeff Mills is Brian Eno of techno and more
Un gars bien! Humble
So I finally know what the wizard look like!!lol
BRING ON JEFF MILLS @ LIFE FESTIVAL 2011
Jeff the best!!!!! :)
He says he doesn't want to hear other producers music, but he plays plenty of other producers tracks other than his own. I'm a bit confused of what he's conveying.
He means in terms of music production, he also says "I don't want to hear their ideas" meaning he doesn't want to know what techno means to them, or what emotions do they express through techno. He wants to pave his own path sonically.
@kidkerouac
Yep
So was Jimi Hendrix
I wonder how many people thought of the same thing!!
We called him the wizard way back when
9:36
4:23 track?
@ppinkythefloydd what is better?
@kidkerouac ya THINK?! smile.
"if i play snares and claps the people will raise their hands, it gets a little predictable" lol
Turn off the phones...
is more like a show rather then a technoi party from back in the dazs.. anzwhere though not onlz dtriot...!
what is with the stage????
Is he kneeling????
4:43 for epic vibe
Or it could be someone wanting to hold on to a beautiful moment forever...... just sayin.
Wish he would of elaborated on what he means by moving things forward. Little too obscure for understanding it.
Perhaps he means progressive by nature, not necessarily to a particular destination. And evolving as an artist without being influenced by others as much. But I agree, I’m curious to hear more. It was the most intriguing part of the interview.
jeff is the sickest
viva el techno de detroit y jeff mills
for the record, it looked like most of those were cameras
Hare Mills Hare Mills Hare Hare Mills Mills
track id at 8.27?
Philus - B1 Untitled [1993]
he is the face of techno
prolly so he can hear better.
what did he say? I never understood any of it.
i count a hundred iph0nes..!
the god-father of techno...
jeff is awesome, but why the heck DJ on the floor. Looks funny.
jeff "god" mills
Welcome to the modern dance scene. It sux.
the fucking cell phones everywhere... no one listens.... no one really enjoys... fuck it.
another level......only for intelligent people¡¡¡
Never really explained anything other than a weird dream hes had. Seen him live and not to sure about his style. Ive been around for years listened to nearly everything techno has but i find his style to repetitive and raw.
Yawn
