I lived in Vermont for 15 years while I taught at Middlebury College. I spent a lot of time driving around the state, and have seen most of the places described here. Thanks for the memories!
I’m thinking of making this state my next place to live. Where would you recommend one live to raise a family and have a small six acre farm or so? Thnx!
I was born and raised in Shelburne. There's plenty to do in Vermont but taking one of the Lake Champlain ferries on a summer evening is just about the nicest thing you can do
Thanks for the travel trips!! I’ve been to Vermont once and it was so beautiful! I’m currently doing a Canadian cross country road trip, but it’s so boring with noting to do that I’m going to cross back into the US, into Vermont! 💚 so I’m looking forward to exploring more of the beautiful state!
I really like Vermont. I'm from Spain y I had been in Vermnt a long time ago . I was in autumn during fall The landscape its colours was amazing, breathtaking, stunning, Unfogerttably beautiful. And from then on I want to get back there. Someday I'll go back and then I'll stay forever. Greetings from Salamanca (Spain) Friday September 27 - 2024
Thank you for the great video!! Remembers me of my trip to VT. :) Especially hiking at Shelburne Farms and having a drink at "The Inn at Shelburne Farms" while watching the sunset was amazing :).
Newhart wasn’t in Vermont. It was filmed in California. They scabbed in some outdoors scenes from Middlebury Vermont, which is the most New York City town in Vermont.
It is scenic as all hell. It is also the dullest place in North America. But it is very close to upstate New York. I went to college there. Graduation was the happiest day of my young life.
09:07 - one of the best spots to visit for canuists and cakers? (The closed caption said "cannabis"). :) I'm assuming it was trying to say canoeists and kayakers. ???
Don’t forget to stop at all the little towns along the way. You won’t though. I see you every weekend in your fancy cars flying up the highway in a goddamn rush to get to your over priced posh weekend getaway spots. Lol As a seventh generation Vermonter I will say this. We love it when you come in the fall leaf peeping, driving super slow and even stopping in the middle of the road to take pictures. We love it when you come up during ski season and get your Mercedes stuck in the snow banks. After all that’s how we get beer money. Pulling you out of the ditch. We love you coming to visit during the summer. Swim, hike, bike to your hearts content. But please, for the sake of god. Stay the hell home during mud season. 😅🎉
I love stopping in the little towns! They’re so charming. 💚 It’s always funny tho when I stop somewhere like the library to recharge my devices and I get that “who are you??” look from the librarian 😂
😂😂😂 My VT roots go back many generations as well, though I live in NH (my mom was a native Vermonter). There have been many times when my daughter and I come back home to Vermont during mud season, *precisely* because there are fewer tourists.
Hi!! I need your suggestions. I really want to go during the fall. I live in California, and I am thinking about riding a train to visit Vermont and closer states, but I don't know if should be better to take my car and drive all the way. If you have ever made this trip or if you live there, please make some recommendations to see as much as I can in one week.
Would you be able to share where the opening scene of this video is? I'd like to go there but wasn't sure where that main street is, is it Burlington? Or elsewhere?
I’m from Vermont and whenever I’m in Queechee I shout to my wife in public “ I wanna Queechee!!” Queechee sounds like a type of Woopie Cushion. My Mansfield is stunning. I live in Williston and you can see Mansfield from my house.
Garage sales. Just leave money. Went to a restaurant for new England pancakes and real maple syrup. Known as Johnny cakes. Syrups sold according to color. Make sure eatery has a washroom.
I grew up in VT and its nice enough but pretty boring. Winters are depressing and even the scenery gets old after a while and you realize theres not much going on. These teaser videos are often birdseye views that look pretty but dont tell the whole story.
@@jdubspecial Thanks for the heads up. You are a Vermonter and know better than this Jersey boy. I didn't really notice other mispronouncings but I've become inured to them at this point.
What they've done to the Lowell Mountains is a travesty. Thousands of acres leveled for windmills. Apparently there are no environmentalists left in the state. Clean energy my ass.
Uh no. I’m a 53 yr old native Vermonter and would rather tourists come here and spend their money to help our already struggling small economy and tax base.

@KSKSK9164- stay home. We don’t want you here.
9:33 I had a good laugh with how they mangled Quechee, but I was rolling on the floor with Vergennes. 🤣🤣🤣
The voice over is spectacularly terrible. What are cakers and cannawiss?!?!
It's absolutely horrible 😂😂😂😂 I was born and raised here, never have I heard anything like it hahaha
Don’t forget seer-up.
I just love Vermont what a beautiful state.

I love Vermont... something about 'it'... many found memories while visiting in the 80s and 90s.

Hi there. Thanks for highlighting Manchester and FYI, it is not a city but rather a town. Thanks
Don't forget to get creemees!
Shelburne It’s a largest town 7 miles south of Burlington? 5:28 What does that mean?
So, what’s the largest town 11 miles south of Burlington?

Cool
Hildene mansion was the summer home of the Lincoln family, Robert Tod Lincoln and his wife Mary, not just some wealthy people.
I was surprised this was not mentioned!!!

No Glastenbury?
What about the birthplace of Vermont Windsor?
Injured raptors? Oh wait, birds of prey. I had Jurassic Park on the brain for a second.
I thought she said injured rafters at first.

If you mean the one with Mocha Joes thats Brattleboro which is so close to Massachusetts most Vermonters dont recognize it.
A locally edited phonetic script without abbreviations may be helpful for proper pronunciations.

What's the name of the mountains where you can bike ride
Mt Ascutney
👍👍👍
Who is doing this voiceover?!
I think they use an AI to do the voice overs. Some of it doesn’t make any sense.
This state got the potential to be Cali type
2:48 . What???
how to get to work here
You can't. It's really not a great place to live. Trust I've lived in VT my whole life its not really all that great!
Garage sales. Just leave money. Went to a restaurant for new England pancakes and real maple syrup. Known as Johnny cakes. Syrups sold according to color. Make sure eatery has a washroom.
The buckets collect sap not syrup
Try to pronounce the name of the towns correctly.
As both a can-o-ist and a caker who loves lake Champ-lane, I very much appreciate the pronunciations :)
Pronouncing Quechee wrong!
Vermont is the state where you will find the birthplace of the 30th President of USA Calvin Coolidge.
Qwee chee….that’s how it’s pronounced

Don’t come back. There are too many here already

Hii💐💐💐
If this is the top spots in the state. Vermont has got zero going on!
Just don't send people to Sleepy Hollow Farm, which is off limits to tourists. All roads are blocked.
is she mispronouncing everything wrong on purpose? or have I been wrong my whole life? (and I'm from Vermont! lol)
Keechee, no?
@@ikmarchini I've always pronounced it like "qwee chee"

Her pronunciation of Montpellier was weird, no?
Queechee Pronounced Wrong QuE

Clean energy my ass.
None of these areas I would never visit.Too many people
Well that’s all wrong and you couldn’t pronounce the name of any town lol
If you come here behave yourself and dont litter.
