My favorite parts of these demakes are seeing the video game character act like a real player is pressing the inputs. Tiny things like the change of direction or pauses feel so realistic to how a person plays a video game. Also the pixel shading is beautiful in this! Fantastic work :)
I would actually say that is what is lacking. No missing jumps, all jumps feeling inconsistent height wise, almost no breaks but always slow walking (kind of like scripted E3 demos)... Looks and sound are perfect, but the gameplay/movement looks like pure animation to me
@@lshalo3 that's pretty consistent with how this game works, jumps are different height because in game it just gives you a button prompt when you can jump up somewhere...

Absolutely NOVA! The captured the look and feel of Stray and then perfectly translated it into OG Gameboy code, or perhaps they asked Dr. Who to send Stray's development team back in time 30 years? Either way, its very impressive how remarkably true to the original this turned out! Bravo!
Impressive shader work and respect for the pixel grid and other limitations. Even limiting the fluidity of the idle animation to the tail, wich seem possible in the original. Really top work.

This felt amazing! I loved the music on the part where the cat was running away from the zurks, it was so similar to the original track yet so funny-sounding! Also it sounded like music made in SurvivalCraft 2! I loved this!

I wouldn't be surprised to learn these were made in Unity so they could replicate real inputs by jiust having actual real inputs.
