    Parker 75 Cross Hatch Grid pattern fountain pen also known as the Cisele in sterling silver and in the original case with instructions,converter and a ink cartridge. It was made in the USA circa 1964 with the flat tassies and a Parker 14k 585 USA nib. A absolute superb example in as new condition.

    I have had mine for53 years. I use it all the time. I really love it! It has terrific memories attached to it. It was my 21st birthday gift from my sister. Any major documents in my life have been signed with it. It is one of the few things in my life that I fear ever losing.

    I had a Parker 75 Ships Treasure Pen, complete with box and certificate, that had never been inked. I also had the original sales receipt showing my uncle had paid $35 for it in 1965. I say HAD because it was destroyed along with my home during Hurricane Katrina in 2005. I managed to dig it out of the mud and toxic water, but it was badly damaged. I found a Parker 75 collector online and gave it to him. The ship from which the silver was obtained went down in a hurricane. My pen went down in a second hurricane. Losing all my fountain pens to Katrina was heartbreaking.

    A bit late to the party, but just wanted to thank you for this video. I recently inherited my Grandmother's Cisele; it was the only pen I ever remember her using, so I was delighted when my father gave it to me. A quick polish, new converter, fresh bottle of Quink and it was ready to go. I'm an artist and have been a pen nerd my whole life--I have never used a fountain pen this good. I was happy to find your video and learn more about it. Mine seems to date to 1964 (the only difference between mine and yours is the lack of hallmark on the barrel--I suspect this was done because yours was sold in the UK?). This pen would have been precious to me regardless, but I appreciate the information in the video that presents the various subtle nuances. Thank you again.

    The '65' is a code for the nib grade. It shows it to be a fine point. First year pens had metal threads and a notch in the tassie for the clip, rather than the notch being in the cap itself, as your pen does. Great pen, fun to see the unboxing.

      Sad it won't be a first year parker, but even then, it must be from the 60s on all the other terms.

    Just found a ca. 1970 NOS from the bay....swapped a modern piston filler for the aerometric & gave it a quick polish with some Neverdull....inked it up and find it to be a lovely writing pen with medium wetness. Nib is not overly wet nor too dry, maybe just write? :) love vintage pens, like writing with history on every stroke

I thought long and hard about inking and decided to use the pen as it was intended. 48 years without anyone getting the pleasure of writing with it is long enough :-).

    The Parker 75 is my favorite pen of all times, all brands, all models! When I purchased my first 75 from a store called Gertz in Flushing, NY, in 1973's, I paid a whopping $25 dollars for it!! It is a beautiful, classic pen, timeless in its design! I compare it to the Mies Van Rohe's Barcelona chairs that he designed to represent Germany in the1929 Exposition in Barcelona, Spain. The 75 is timeless; place it on any desk design and it still looks fresh and new! I think it is one of the great fountain pen designs of all all times! I have two and both of them write like new pens, even better since the nib has 'melded' to my hand gliding it over the paper! Its classic, timeless and just a wonderful writing instrument that was originally American made!

    Stef, the numbers '65' means Mideium nib. The earlier 75s had numbers instead of letters denoting the tip size. A 63 for extra fine nib, a 64 for fine nib, a 65 for medium nib and a 66 for a broad nib. There were other numbers for specialty nibs. Later, however, the numbering system was replaced by introducing leters for indicating tip sizes.
    Keep it Stef.

    Some time during the late 1960’s or early 1970’s Parker introduced a “special edition” of this pen manufactured with silver coins or bullion discovered on a sunken ship. Hello sir! My mother has this pen, and it's in desperate need of cleaning. Could you do a video about how to clean this specific pen? Or is there a website that you can recommend with instructions on proper cleaning?

    • @penkino1

      A simple wipe over with a jewelers cloth will be fine. Dont over do it as you want to leave the black lines in the pattern. Good luck.

    • @penkino1
      @penkino1  10 років тому +1

      Joven Chiew Try applying dry heat to the cap top, then use a piece of rubber to grip it. Be careful that the clip does not move otherwise it will rip the notches to the top of the cap. good luck.

An hour later, when returned, it was of course gone. Guess if I kick myself still. It was so heavy in my shirt pocket so I can not imagine how it was even possible to forget it. Guess all the questions from the students made me a bit distracted.

    If I may make a critical remark but without wanting to be a prick (hard to do, in a comment section): I think the efficiency of these videos would be increased if you did not describe *every* detail that we can also clearly see. A touch of silence might take courage, strangely, but [and I don't know if I'm the only one who feels that way] I wouldn't quite get as impatient with having things almost spelled out that I can read for myself. (I.e. the inscription of the booklet.) After all, yours is a video format, not a podcast. [But I really do appreciate your videos and I don't mean this as a general criticism.]
