I did a build on this exact same case last year and my experience was the same as yours - I ended up moving my build to a K39 :)
I did see a redesigned version of this case that allows an 80x15 fan under the power supply and a 120x15 fan under the motherboard, but of course that increases the volume above 7.5L.

i just bought this case last night but i thought i could fit some super thin fans in there to help with air flow. since you have experience on this case did u have fans or was there enough room to fit slim 90mm fans or even 30mm 40mm fans?

    • @EarlLapus
      @EarlLapus Рік тому +1

@@rushhour6444 it depends on the psu cables - I had custom length cables which allowed me to squeeze in a 60mm fan. But it really did not help much since the holes underneath don’t really allow good airflow.

I just got this case and moved my old system with i7 4790 (with idcooling IS-40X) + GTX 1660 to it. I tried running Shadow of the Tomb Raider benchmark several times and the CPU temp hovers around 62 - 63C and the GPU gets up to 75C. I ended up undervolting the GPU a little bit and it never goes past 70C. I think this case is best for mid - low end system.

    • @manongunboxing
      @manongunboxing  Рік тому

Yeah sadly. I was thinking of that but didn't mention it. Reason was that the case can house modern mid range components and so it should be able to handle such, the diff between open case and close case was enough for me to say skip it. Though I forgot the aesthetics aspect, which would say that you might like the case and not care about thermals and just give the best hardware that this can handle. Thanks for reminding. Will try to see things in another perspective.

I'm glad you pointed out the poor airflow on the mesh grill. Based on this review, I ordered the PCCooler i100-2 with clear acrylic panels. FYI - the main difference between the PCCooler i100 and i100-2 is the size of the GPU that it can hold. The i100 supports 2-slot GPUs < 312 mm length. The i100-2 supports 3-slot GPUs < 330 mm length. I have an ASUS TUF GAMING 3060 OC 12GB that can fit either case, except -> it's too thick for the regular i100.

@@lipecanad4 With side intakes (GPU + CPU cooler), the top of the i100-2 case (above the CPU) got pretty toasty. It wasn't venting air fast enough, though it didn't affect temps or performance. I added 2x 120mm fans on top to vent the air faster. Don't know if it was really needed, but I did it because the SSD was near the top and wanted to make sure that was staying cool. (The i100-2 case has mounts on the top for 2x 120mm fans - on the outside of the case). Otherwise, for gaming I never see GPU/CPU temps go above 70 degrees. The 12100F and IS-55 cooler are a good match. Mainly it's the hot exhaust onto the motherboard that is probably more worrisome (thus the 2x 120mm top fans).

they should've moved the usb port (and maybe the power button) to the bottom right of the front panel, right under the gpu where there is a fair bit of empty space. as it is, the usb port restricts the height of the gpu that you can install. this is also an issue in the a07 case that i have.

  • @Usergdsegbuklocfg

I use this case, also face the problem of overheating I just don't apply side pannel :) Case fits 1 80x10 fan on top of the PSU. This case is only for 65W CPU and below 200W graphics card. I use it with 12100f rx6600 and it works fine. Still doesn't see some alternatives with ~7.5 L volume and 300mm GPU... maybe LianLi a4. I think balance between size and temerature is 13L cases for micro-ATX motherboars ~320x260x160 where you can fit 3-5 120 fans.

hi, I did another benchmark based on your comment. I believe it was a valid point as the holes at the bottom of the case are bigger compared to the top of the case. I placed the case on top of 4cm boxes making a huge space underneath the case.
Ok, so here's the result on intake cpu and closed side panels with FF15 for 30 mins:
CPU avg temp: 79.6C (w/ spacers) vs 85.6C (no spacers)
CPU max temp: 88.4 vs 90.3
GPU avg temp: 78.65 vs 77.24
That huge CPU average difference just cements my theory that their mesh panels need improvement. I placed my hands underneath the case and there are lots of air blowing out compared to the top of the case. However, there is no improvement for the GPU since my specific GPU's fin stacks are more inclined to push air to the top and less to the bottom.

@@manongunboxing if your into it, you can try the mod the same with Noctua faoms, the one you put between the gap on the CPU fan and the side panels. Nah not planning to go deeper, I dismantled the build already as I need to get the CPU for an upcoming GPU vid. 😃
As for i100-2 (if this is what you meant w/ v2), it is a bit bigger already to the point that it competes with the mainstream which I haven't tested yet. To give a holistic view, I have to test the mainstream first (I'm scheduling it on May; I already have an SFF ATX this April). Mainstream cases are easily available and price-competitive, size is also not that far from other boutique cases.

      Same price point
      Same cooler
      Same gpu
      Same psu
      Same ambient temps
      Diff case
      Negligible foot print difference
      Worse cpu cooling
Yeah sure, I could use Intel i3 10100 so that it's better for the case. But given the same price point, negligible foot print difference between the I100-2, and a measurable 10 degrees Celsius improvement for 5800X (meaning now you have room for CPU upgrades), what is the point of this case?

Not so informative. Author even hadnt done downvolting and powerlimiting whis is a must in ALL ITX cases, Even more he forgot to install 2 case fans which need to be bought separately. Oh and a Dust filter... R U serious??? Never use dust filter in itx!!! Instead use blowing machine once in year which is pretty easy with this size. The Case actually really good. but u need to know how to use itx hardware.

If I need to undervolt, i’ll just buy a more competent case.
I sold this case in FB marketplace and he was so unsatisfied that he bought another case from me.
Never use dust filter - if it’s an included accessory, it is expected to be used and tested. Otherwise, don’t include one, like meshroom.
If you think this is a good case, that’s fine but I would never recommend such to this day. Really the worst case that I’ve tested.

baliktad po yung fan nyo sa cpu, since sobrang liit ng space sa loob much better na hindi pa exaust ang setup, wala kayong fan na pa pasok ang air puros palabas

Originally, intake po yung fan ko 02:59. Grill nasa likod for Noctua NF-A12x15, papasok / downdraft sya sa CPU.
Pero I tested everything (08:29) as benefit of doubt dahil kahit usual config e hindi performing.
      Hope this clarifies.
