It is a Lexus which means it is a luxury car and dont expect this to be cheap.

The question is can we really adopt ev with our current infrastructure and also what about power grid?, can our power grid handle those supercharger can the power grid in Philippines handle the extra load?

Why Toyota Motors Philippines officially release the Lexus RZ 450e but not the Toyota bz4x? I hope the negative reviews from American car media won’t be a factor.

Luxury buyers will be less sensitive to the price than Toyota buyers.
4m for a Toyota EV would be too expensive. 4.5m for a Lexus EV is rather cheap.

Nice car for a Lexus but the EV part which is at the heart of the vehicle is not. Battery size, charging speed and the BMS is not up to par. Lexus has to sort all these out in the second generation of this car.

Toyota-Lexus hasn't fully committed to EVs yet, it seems. The company has its attention split between hybrids, lithium ion EVs, hydrogen experiments and a long term bet on solid state batteries.

The Japanese/Toyota better speed things up with those solid state batteries. The Chinese are already in small scale production. Bottom line I like Japan over China given the way the CCP treats the Philippines.

What a confusing review. If it doesnt drive like an EV then just mention its a subpar EV and none of this “it drives like a Lexus” statement. Other reviewers got a more straightforward approach in describing this vehicle. Also 9/10? You know there are other numbers available in the scale. Giving it a 9 is too high unless you’re trying to butter up Lexus Philippines.

Going for a different type of driving experience doesn't make it subpar. It just makes it different. The range is the biggest issue, but then, given the price versus other luxury EVs, that's not a big issue.
I did watch all those reviews before doing this one, so was rather puzzled when I drove it, because I didn't find it as objectionable as others were making it out to be. *shrugs*

Chinese EV tech is better than their western counterparts save Tesla which is in a league of their own. Toyota is wishy washy on EVs at the moment and this RZ and The BZ are the products of this thinking. Toyota needs to shape up!

Battery tech has come a long way from Ternary batteries. If ever you want to buy an EV now from a Chinese Manufacturer, BYD and possibly the Geely Group is the way to go. All other Chinese manufacurers are on brink insolvency.
Tesla a US compay leads the world on EV tech and software although they rely on Chinese batteries. Now that the Biden administration increased tariffs on batteries Tesla will be forced to buy from Panasonic batteries which are not as good as CATL.
