Shio Okui plays Couperin, Les Roseaux. With score.

I made a comparison between this interpretation and that of two great pianists: Sokolov and Alicia de Larrocha. Both are beautiful, but Sokolov adopts a tempo slightly too fast for my taste (as does Blandine Verlet on the harpsichord), and Alicia de Larrocha chooses a piqué, almost dry playing, which I find regrettable. Shio plays this work in a tempo that reveals its beauties without falling into languor, with as much simplicity as grace.
