I would be worried that the wax potting or even the enamel coating on the pickup wire would be damaged from so much heat used to solder those tabs, did the pickups work after your soldering?
Im trying to change the pups in my 2009 Carvin dc727 to some Dimarzio Petrucci set. I keep hearing that the Carvin pups are smaller than standard pups. Have you had any experience with changing pups in a carvin?
Our former warehouse manager would have known, as he's done extensive modifications to his Carvin. But he is no longer with the company. Try contacting him through his UA-cam channel: ua-cam.com/users/KamilNiedopytalskifeatured
It is my personal guitar. I bought it because I wanted to try a headless guitar, but didn't want to invest tons of money. You get what you pay for. The electronics are as cheap as it gets. It needed the frets leveled/crowned, along with a proper set up, etc. The stock pickups sounded good out of the box but were just too high output for me. It was pretty much what I usually expect from a guitar in that price range.

No damage at all. They still play as good as new, and are even still in that guitar. Lucky result I guess. 👍
