My friend fishes backwards like that... He says bass seldom see lures going from the deep towards the shoreline, and gives bass something totally different.. Kinda make scents for water with high fishing pressure..

I fished this same route on Sunday, loaded the motor and drive up with weeds coming back as the tide was out and not even a bite.. Glad you were able to put it together, I wasn't so lucky.. Next time!

Went fishing yesterday, for the first time in months, on the CA Delta. Caught nothing but feelings. 😂
This is my 2nd season at pre spawn fishing, ever. I saw TONS of fish in the shallows (between 2-5 feet at low tide) along Bethel Island). They either chased then gave up, come to the bait and inspect, or just not even phase by them.
I guess I’m going back and try to be more prepared.
Prob Not prespawn so much anymore.
If you catch one try cast right back in the same spot
Keep at it! the delta can be fickle but she will eventually reward you! ...but that keeps you coming back for more🤣🤣🤣

I'm traveling from the finger lakes to Harrisburg PA this fall for the big bass power hour in October! I can't wait! We also have 3 tournaments on cayuga this year and 1 on seneca!

That was exciting when you finally found the bed fish. We were lucky enough to have a similar incident on Clearlake. We found a bed under an overhanging tree; my husband caught the male. I tossed my bait in right afterwards and she slammed it! Boy, talking about an angry fish!!! She was NOT happy that we pulled the male off LOL! She was just under 5 lbs. 😊

Late afternoon has been my best bite down in so cal the last couple weeks...water warms up ,pressure eases up and the bigger ones bite. Shallow cranking with a bluegill pattern...good luck at clear lake

My buddy is at clear lake pre fishing for US OPEN I went yesterday with him I got 3 on a frog up in 3 feet of water up north.
Greg, the fishing changes every year. This year everything is running late. We should be done with the striper run but it's just started. The Shad run is going to start here shortly too. Awesome video though.
Warm temps & blue skies but once again cold temps & rain this weekend I wonder if this is confusing fish with the water temps fluctuating but it is still early spring so eventually the bite has to get better from here.

Genuine question, with seeing more and more sea lions up in the system, are you noticing a decrease in bass?
I can't say for sure but I've seen them eat the bass so I would say yeah definitely
I love in Bakersfield and we went from 60°to80° over night. I didn't fish that day(yesterday) but I fished today and we went from that 80°mark to a 90 and I had 5# bass swimming next to my kayak without fear patrolling. I was sight fishing everything I had and nothing got hit. We probably need like 4 days straight of consistent weather to make them active
Went CA delta fishing, caught a few under size stripers, a few bass,all in all still tough fishing for me.
So couple things. As to sight fishing. I just recently watched a video by chad Hoover. And it was actually over sight fishing especially on beds. He said that it is long and tedious yes but the rewards are amazing. I believe each fishing weighed 5 or more. It was like 3 fish. And he sat for a while. But he did say that is the down fall to sight fishing is the wait time. When he caught the first one he took it and put grips on it moved it tied it to the bank so he could catch the other. Great great video. And 2. I recently spoke to chad through UA-cam and he was putting together and nuklhed fishing tournament and he asked you and you said no. Well he said you are skared lol. However this was a great video and I also recently done some sight fishing and yes wow so so much patience and passion that you have to have to sit and wait like that. But that female was worth it. And the raccoon 🦝 lol. Thanks man!!!!!
The BedFishing in Clearlake is definitly on, I caught almost all the fish in Clearlake on beds in my last vid, but that cold front is kinda crazy, cool to see what will happen, might make it better because they will push out a bit and feed up🤷

I know you love your kitted out yak, but how long does it actually take you from when you pull up to the launch site until you're ready to actually get in the boat and fish? seems like it'd have to take at least a half hour or more
I use a similar drone for taking arial shots, but put ping pong balls on the legs (Yes! I HAVE lost a couple of drones in the lake!). Lol

100% of the fish are in 10% of the water at the delta. This has been true for a long time. Your last video and this video I noticed there is zero big white birds around. Find the big white birds you'll find the bass. This time of year they are following the bait which gives away the bass location. I'm not one to give advice to somebody who is as experienced as you are but make it a point to fish only where you see the big white birds and watch how much better you do. God Bless. Tight Lines.
Greg - you ever tried stretching out you senko style baits before you throw them. I have a buddy that tourney fished for years that swore by it. Saying it helped to release some of the scent / salt and therefore would help on hook up ratio because they will hold it longer.🤷♂ Thoughts ? I myself never wacky rig fish, but maybe I should try 🤔

Rub em and it brings out the salt,changes the color a bit..I like to dip the tail in red,black, or chartreuse depending on the senko color and will t-rig weightless with a light wire ewg 🎣 it works
