I have a head cannon for Klaus.. Klaus was a experiment like Henry his plans were taken to England as it was going to be American engine but was never tested and they built it unfortunately they came in to a problem that the driving wheels were so big and tall that Klaus couldn't go under low bridges and certain tunnels which limited Klaus to certain areas but Klaus power more than made up for the effort and made enough power to be just a little more powerful than big bertha a 0-10-0 locomotive made to bank engines on the licky. Klaus was a one of a type locomotive and was picked off as a loan but soon was bought for the railway and Klaus arrived on the island of sodor in 1995 being 57 years old by then and after coming to the 5th railway he had ever been to and the fat controller was able to buy Klaus for a solid 800000k and now he had finally found a final railway to stay on and would stay as the railways number 57 and to this day is still on the railway and is 85 years old today and is now known as one of the strongest and most unique locomotives on the island of sodor
I think the reason for Gordon’s hill changed because the episode Percy runs away (I think)when he ran through Gordon’s hill and then back to lower sudery where he stopped

I think they added it so it would be easier to access Eastern Sodor from Brendam Docks
