This man literally composes one of the best soundtracks in RPG history from his hospital bed, proceeds to kicks cancer's ass, gets released from hospital and this is the first thing he does in public. He's not only an absolute madman, he's OUR absolute madman. He's the actual Warrior of Light.
This is what it is to be alive, to live in the moment, after dealing with something that could have snatched his life away so swiftly. One of the many moments that shine that will be immortalized for an eternity.
This was such a great moment, but it was rather bittersweet. The next day he had announced he had been battling cancer since before 5.3 was released. I remember how shocked everyone was in the livestream. Glad to see him doing a lot better these days. He has a true gem. Also, Keiko (The pianist) was a pure professional during all of this.

Yoshi P breaking down talking about he wasn't able to see him was heartbreaking. Yes, he did beat cancer, and that is probably why he did the act. Given a new lease on life, he wanted to bring us joy in that moment.
And even better, when Yoshi-P announced the Endwalker delay, quite a sizeable amount of people were like "OH NO! Has something happened to Soken or one of the devs?!" The most surprising thing was the fact that the first thought people thought about was the devs, not the game or the expansion. It was amazing.
To simultaneously be the mastermind behind some of the most diverse and fantastic music in a game ever AND be able to go on stage and be purposely this awful is mind blowing

I like to accredit this to Yoshi-P, I like to think he promotes a non-toxic work environment. When Heavensward released, the team swore off crunch, and it sounds like they never used it again, and in order to release consistent quality like this they have to retain talent and prevent burnout, so yeah, I think silliness like this is one perk of working there.

I was up till 4am watching the entire fanfest, I’ve never watched the Primals concert after and it was a real joy. I was ugly laughing with tears at this. Then this hits even harder after they all get up on stage for closing and Soken reveals to everyone he was battling cancer and composing music from a hospital bed. This was the performance he chose to come back with 😭😭😭 it was so amazing
