Looking like a whole lionessss! I totally agree with you, natural hair does NOT have to be complicated. Especially once you get your regimen down. You are preaching in this video. WATER is ESSENTIAL.
I agree with you on the simple wash day and I’m a firm believer of the no oils and butters ( however if I’m doing 2 strand twists or braids I will pull out my twisting creams lol) I shampoo and use the shampoo to detangle and section then deep condition. After that I apply the ufd curly magic to pull water into my hair then the Jell-O shot gel to add hold, that’s my topper gel. I do use an oil to fluff the crunch each day but really the oil is used after my hair is completely dry to lock in all the water pulled into my hair not to add extra moisture or anything. Plus it’s good for my scalp
You know I loooove your hair! I’m surprised I was doing so many of the no-no’s ! 😳 the shedding I have is insane, think handfuls. You make so much sense, thx for sharing the tips!
It's the same for me. I wash my hair on Wednesday's and Saturdays. Not only am I natural, but I am color treated as well. So its like the big "Don't you dare wash you hair often or you'll strip moisture and color". Like people don't seem to listen to their scalps. Your scalp lets you know when its time for a wash, why sit there and let it be irritate for a full 7 days to 2-3 weeks? Plus color depositing conditioner and deep treatments are made for a reason, best believe I am using them. I had to do a lot of research to find out not all sulfates are bad, and not just because a shampoo has sulfates mean that its a clarifying shampoo. In short, it does wonders to not only do your own research but to listen to your scalp and hair needs, not what everyone else has to say. No one is going to know you have better than yourself and whomever else takes care of it in turn.
I love you hair.. the volume is everything!! ❤️❤️.. but side note has anyone ever told you that you resemble Eva Marcille, like she could be your big sister ..
I guess you could say that, but I never liked using oils in my hair routine other than for separating twistouts/braidout, and I didn’t really use butters either. I personally just had to limit my use of styling products 😊
Do you find you have tangly hair on wash day? Whenever I do an afro my hair tangles like crazy and it takes so long to prep my hair for washing because I have to be under running water for awhile trying to make sure there aren't major knots.
This is so helpful! We have the same hair, and I‘ve felt like the super complicated routine I’ve been using has been weighing down my hair. I tried your tips and my hair is fluffy!
The fact that she told the damn truth about EVERYTHING made me smile very wide😁👏🏾
