      sounds f...... I am so disappointed to hear him say that, don't we get enough of that word everywhere else on youtube Comments? I won't be buying any Grace gear :(

      A brilliant guy said "fucking" and because of that you won't buy anything? Are you a saint or what

      dankurydotcom i laughed on this actually

      no I am not a saint, far from it, but I am disappointed that a professional company like Grace Design would allow this particular statement in an otherwise "intended" endorsement. And yes, I will buy products, but not from companies who think that including the statement "FUCKING AWESOME" in their "endorsement youtube video" will cause people to want to buy it just to be cool. Jacob (who is still brilliant) said it, and that is who I am disappointed in. That's it,... I'm out.

    Beautiful! I also have that mindset for recording true sound of instruments (of course there's a time and place for many approaches). Have you tried great ribbon mics for true natural pickup? The mic will be the crucial link in not adding artificial highs, etc. Ribbons also have more true "Shape" to the sound and more of a tactile feel. I prefer passive ribbons as much as possible, your Grace pres should do a great job as long as they have high gain.

    Which keyboard controller are you using? Also, what is the signal chain from live instrument to DAW? Mic, Grace Pre, Logic ? Thank you so much!!

      he's using a native instruments s49 mark 1, with the lower keys not working because of a coffee spill. he has multiple mics in his room, a vocal, two mojaves for guitars and stuff, some on the drums, on the piano and in the room, that go through different pres into a focusrite and then into logic.

    I snagged a Grace M802 with A/D (M108's predecessor) and would never have any other brand.

    why does he need an external mic preamp if his Focusrite already has great sounding preamps?

    • @RobyMBeki
      @RobyMBeki 2 роки тому +1

      Some tube microphones need phantom power (45V) delivered by a microphone preamp to work, others don't. Hope that cleared things up :)
