Hats off to Marcus Bales for his remarkable lyrics; hats off again to Don Caron for his remarkable delivery. This may be my favorite Parody Project production of all time!
@@UkeCan1 The lyrics are supplied by the subtitles, and anyway a proper G & S comic baritone should be able to make every golden word understood at top speed.
My favorite musical stage production.... The Pirates of Penzance... You have OUT DONE YOURSELF with this one. Thanks for the smile you put on my face. And of Course. Slava UKRAINE 🇺🇦.
Anybody know how to "share" this with Putin and his cronies and officers? Maybe just broadcast it over their state TV. Hehe! This is brilliant, as usual, Don. Thanks.
Thank you, the perfect parody. Putin's imaginary "super troops" depicted in animation. Yep, so disciplined and smart they stole radioactive items to take home for souvenirs, then followed up with stealing millions of dollars of John Deere farm equipment that won't work without John Deere's cooperation.
Brilliant. Bizarre. It took me off-guard for a moment with the cartoon figure(s). The grisly sites in the background are eerie and terrible. The lyrics are what they have to be. The pacing and rests add to the sense of threat. Thanks for the reminder of the hideousness of all of this. 😢 🇺🇦❤️
👋🏻 From a real Tasmanian. We all know something must be done about Russia, well anyone not monetising the situation for personal gain, anyway. But what? What a godawful situation, hey? No answers, but we in Oz stand with Ukraine 🇺🇦
I could smile at this great parody, if the reality weren't so stark. Where, oh where, is the sleeping keeper of opportune heart attacks. The nominated shirtless blunderer awaits.
1:11 Jogesh Chatterjee?? That is quite an obscure reference. I had to look it up. Chalked it down to rhyming and right number of syllables. Enjoyed the song though -- particularly in light of how many Russian Major-Generals have been KIA.
I don't know how I missed this wonderfully wicked but unfortunately still relevant parody. It's 5:50 am in Vienna, Austria where I'm living these days and I couldn't help myself lol, I am laughing out loud and singing along. Thanks so much for starting my day out right.
This is absolutely brilliant and deserves to join Tom Lehrer as one of the best parodies of "I am the very model" Thank you for brightening up my Friday.
Bang on Don and Marcus. You always have your finger right on the pulse. Something has to give soon, and no one wants to compromise lest they should appear stupid…wrong is okay…but stupid is another matter.🖤🇨🇦
Excellent. It would have been outstanding if it had been delivered in a Russian accent -- not even necessarily a perfect one; one as good as Tom Lehrer's in "Lobachevsky" would have been enough. But I'm just quibbling -- this is excellent work.
This is awesome. I'll definitely share with my Ukrainian army friends and commercial airline Ukrainian pilot (Operator Starsky and Denys DavyDov) on UA-cam. Thanks again for another great production. ♡
Great song about Putin's communists. You should do a song of Ronald Raegan screaming from his grave about GOP now supporting Putin's new communist Russia and the war with Ukraine!
Brilliant parody of " I Am The Very Model Of A Modern British Major General " -Pirates Of Penzance ? When the song started, I remembered 👀 a version of this tune on the Simpsons years back, if I am right ? The Ukrainians should blast this loud at the Russians as they're advancing or more likely retreating back to Moscow ! Thanks for the chuckles 😃. Keep it up, guys !
Jogesh Chatterjee? A pro-independence Indian politician who died of natural causes in 1960? I think it's safe to say that's what the kids call a deep cut. 😂
When you looked up “A Modern Major General“, you should have learned that it was written by Gilbert and Sullivan. Both had passed away long before Tom Lehrer was even born! If the music and the text seems to reflect the music of Tom Lehrer, it can only be because he may have borrowed from them. I would suggest that you go listen to recordings/videos of the G & S song.
@@carinas-potpourri You are correct. Tom Lehrer borrowed the melody from G&S. I happen to be in a very small minority of people on the planet who can sing the entire element song from memory... "There's antimony, arsenic, aluminum, selenium, and hydrogen and oxygen and nitrogen and rhenium..." I had fantasies of being on a TV quiz show and the host would say, "And now, list as many chemical elements as you can for $1,000 each, but if you repeat one you lose it all." Hello, $102,000. 😁

Missed it when you posted this. So good! Kudos to your team!
I recommend playing at 2X, to match the typical G & S performance of this tune. Very nice parody.
ahaha I'm going to watch a 2nd time just to see that.
I needed to see it at this speed to take in all the brilliant lyrics first.
Close. 1.5X is better. 👍

Sad, but true. Fantastic voice, Don!
This is wonderful, sadly true. Gilbert & Sullivan would be pleased by your use of their work.
Sad, sad but true. At least that's what everyone is saying. A Trump quote that finally makes sense.
Excellent work as ever!
Ha! A great parody. I recently saw "The Pirates of Penzance" -- this might be even better than the original "Major General"s song".

So true and sad. But loved the song.

A question: is the music based on a Tom Lehrer song?
Gilbert & Sullivan "Pirates of Penzance". It is the Major General's song.
@@douglasburnside I looked the role model of a modern major up. I know the music from Tom Lehrer's Elements
