I just started to actually listen to some of the Dylan albums that I have accumulated over the years. The only one that I ever really felt excited about was Bringing it All Back Home. It is such a great album. I thought Blonde on Blonde was a little too long. I did like Desire. I listened to side one a few weeks ago. I remember him playing some of this album at the Boston Music Hall in 1975. I would have to agree with you Chris that this may be one of his better albums. So far it sounds pretty upbeat. I don't know about side two? Dig the Buddy and Junior album. That will be the one that I check out. All of them that you showed I connected with. Thanks for sharing this classic VC vinyl finds video. There are not many of them going around in the VC anymore~

I do love a vinyl finds video Rob. They’re the ones I gravitate towards as I love seeing what people find and what they think about each record. The jury is out on Dylan for me. I really like the Wells Guy Lp. Great combination. Cheers, chris

I like that camel record Buddy Guy and Junior Wells are 2 iconic blues players.
ZZ top Fandango has two of my favorite ZZ top songs on it.
yeah that stray record too. All the stray records are really good. I think I've talked about all these records at some point in time on my channel really enjoyed your video well done my friend.

Thanks Ron. I’m really enjoying that Camel Lp. Like that band a lot. Blue Jean Blues is my fave ZZ top track.
Need to find other Stray LPs as I like that one!
      Cheers, Chris

Rei Momo is a fantastic album and shows the talents of Byrne and where he was heading as he explored world music in the americas

I find it ok. Not sure I will play it much or even hang on to it. Enjoyable but for me not essential

Very nice score with ‘Stray’, it’s very hard to find a copy without the cover been torn and damaged. Another good album by them is ‘move it’ it also has a die-cut out sleeve but it’s not as psychedelic more blues-rock.
Nice to see television getting a shoutout with ‘adventure’ as most of the time everyone just wants to talk about ‘marquee moon’. I’m particularly fond of ‘adventure’ and the track ‘foxhole’.
I’m a big fan of early zz top and fandango is definitely up there but for me it doesn’t get any better than their first 3 albums.
But it looks like you had a very good visit at Bristols record fair, I’m quite upset that I couldn’t make it this time 😢

The fairy was ok. Smaller than usual and I wasn’t overly feeling it so only stayed a couple of hours. 2 of my children live in Brizz so was keen to see them. Enjoying that Stray Lp. Not sure about Television but MMoon was a slow burner for me. I also prefer early ZZtop. Next Bristol fair is November 11th. I’ll be there as usual. Cheers, Chris

Considering you rarely go over a fiver you find some nice records!
Originals of that first Camel album are usually pricy. I have a copy like yours and enjoy it.
I’ve never ventured beyond the first four Wishbone albums as I love that folky element.
Stick with the Television second album - it should get under your skin.
Hope you’re enjoying retirement. Take care, John.

      Retirement is brilliant
I get lucky with Lps but generally I refuse to pay more than £5. Persisting with television but still not convinced

Hi Chris. I had to cross-reference this before I left the comment to make sure I hadn't got it wrong, but the Bournemouth Blondie gig you mentioned is a bit of an infamous one and I mentioned it in the book I wrote about Squeeze - just because the gig was gatecrashed by a load of pissed students from a nearby veterinarian college, who proceeded to pelt both bands with dog foetuses. There you go, that's my fun fact for the day.

Blimey. Wish I had gone. One thing that someone I know who went said was that there was one pissed fella in the crowd masturbating when Debbie Harry was on stage 😳

Wishbone Ash - quite folky Well as a fan back in the early 70s and seeing them live on the University circuit my memory of them was twin lead guitars with a rock feel that wasn't heavy but leaning toward melody and spacey

    • @TheVinylOrchard
      @TheVinylOrchard  Рік тому

The twin guitar thing was a real trademark of that lot. Enjoy their stuff

I like the early Wishbone Ash but struggle after There's the Rub. Love Camel's first but agree they will develop their sound. I must revisit Adventure but why would I play that over Marquee Moon? Wow Motorhead and Stray in the £5 bin! You did well Chris...

I’m quite enjoying the WA LPs as they were cheap enough. But earlier Ash is much better for sure. Adventure is not even on the same planet as MMoon. Quite pleased with pick ups generally but as I said I very rarely spend more than £5. They don’t sound good enough to spend much more for me. Cheers Dale

Tres Hombres is my go to ZZ Top album, though I've got Fandango too. Nice ( not keen on their 80's stuff)
